Lunar Dragon | Male | Mentor's Dragon | Mentions: Veetahbi, Belvidere [Ind.], Beollan [Ind.], Kaia & K'issuk [Ind.]

Violaceous eyes slid to look at Veetahbi as she spoke, her expression shifting into something of awe as she lifted her hand to motion below. Following her indication, his eyes fell upon the water dragon below and a deep hiss reverberated in his chest, his tail flicking which caused the spines at it's tip to rattle in annoyance. Did he know she was just messing with him? Of course. Did he feign abhorrence? Absolutely.

Lifting a clawed hand to his chest, he tilted his head back in what could be considered indignation, and scoffed audibly. "Do not jest, Vee," he spoke aloud this time, his vocals dripping with false hurt and disgust. His wings adjusted where they rested on his back as he shifted his weight to better support her comfortably while also better facing her. "If you think such a dragon even holds a candle to me, I ought to just throw you right off this cliff," he growled playfully, baring his teeth to her. He would never actually hurt Veetahbi, at least not intentionally, but she was not safe from his jokes.

His face sobered up as she spoke freely and from the heart, a gentle look over taking his features in response. "And I you, Veetahbi, there is no rider out there superior to you, and I am happy to call you my own," he nudged her with his muzzle, and then yawned widely, scraping his claws along the stone ground he rested on as he stretched.

When the conversation shifted to the angry looking dragon who was larger than the rest he 'hmm'ed audibly and nodded gently. "Fire dragons are known to be foul tempered beasts, that one looks to be no exception. I would be concerned for the safety of his rider today. At least if he does throw his rider today we won't have to deal with him any longer. So, silver linings I guess?" The idea of a dragon killing their rider on the first day was not unheard of, and while it was not something he could fathom doing he knew some dragons would rather have a dead rider than a weak one.

"If not, hopefully Kaia and K'issuk can reign him in," he commented, glancing where their Squad Leader and their dragon was gliding down to the valley, making their entrance near a light dragon. K'issuk had a gentle but strong touch to things, so he didn't doubt that she could navigate the dangerous waters of dealing with such a beast, but he wasn't sure Kaia would have the same luck just based on the fact that he was the human half. While Nak didn't have an inherent disdain for humans, he knew many did, and it would be difficult for humans to earn the respect and even tolerance of a dragon who genuinely despised them.

Cryosphere || Male || 117 || New Ice Dragon || M: Nava

Cryo hadn’t been expecting a visitor after the amount of time he had spent resting underneath that tree, waiting for his scales to warm up to a considerable degree. But, lo’ and behold, here one was. The sound of their wings coming towards him was an unmistakable sound, causing his eyes to flicker upwards with a raised “brow.” It wasn’t until he saw the graceful form of a stunning crystal dragon heading his way did it finally raise his head from its former position.

The icy beast tilts his head at the female, listening to the soft trill she released at her approach. A method as to not startle him, possibly? Or maybe a simple friendly call? Though, there was a chance that it was both. But, no matter. It was not an aggressive call, and that was what mattered.

Offering a call of his own – the calm resonating sound of singing ice harmonizing with the purr of a leopard – he nods his head in greeting to her “good morning.” The male watches as she keeps her distance from him, glad for the space given (for own health, not the need for it in general). A soft grin is offered at her introduction as he stamps it into his mind for future use. However, a follow up question caused it to immediately fall.

Ah, yes. The fabled question. ‘What was your name?’ It was one that oft struggled to answer, seeing as he had a tendency to remain completely silent – a choice he was not willing to deviate from for as long as possible. But, he had grown… semi used to answering it over the years. For the few times he had, he found that a certain trick worked rather well. And it would likely work in this case as well.

Renewing his smile, the blue faded dragon casts his gaze towards the now mostly melted ground. Reaching out a paw, he slowly drags it along the blades of grass in “intricate” patterns – being extra careful as to not cut them – praying all the while that she’d be able to understand. Eventually, overtime, he gets his message out. The letters of his name glinted in the sun’s light, reflecting their dazzling frozen crystals in its wake. A trick he had picked up from some humans a while back in his travels.

Pulling his paw back to the slightest degree, the ice dragon’s minty eyes meet Nava’s stunning yellow ones before reaching out once more. His “pointer” claw taps the ground before his written name, once again draws it back and places it on his chest.

He waits for a few seconds, allowing any information she was gathering from this to soak it. His spiked tail flicks up and down in the meantime, gradually growing tired of his lack of motion. Particularly walking.

But he chooses to ignore the feeling (as well as a much duller tug from within his own chest), much more interested in the current exchange. Extending his paw once again, he drags it over the bottom half of his name. The shape scales of his form cut the blades with ease, while his natural ability casts the whole section into an icy dungeon.

The frosted beast then tapped his claw before what remained of his name. Four letters – “C.R.Y.O.” Cryo.

Feeling accomplished with his little “parlor trick,” he flashes her another grin, this one toothy and much more bubbly. His taloned hand comes to rest on his chest once more as he does so, now waiting for a response.

Nava
Crystal Dragon | Female | New Dragon | Mentions: Aalis Soile, Cryosphere, Ryker

The younger of the two sisters nodded gently in response to Aalis, having expected nothing less from her as she departed. Words did not need to be shared between the two, if Nava needed her she would let her know. She always did.

Now that she sat near the ice dragon, she shifted her weight a bit to get more comfortable, something that looked more awkward than it was, but the wyvern shaped female could do nothing about it. Having wings for front legs sometimes made things difficult. Her tail swayed across the ground absently as she studied the other creature, her head tilting at the sound he created in response to her own. It was unique, reminding her of the way the winds whistled through the tops of mountains combined with the soothing sound of something more animal. She decided she liked it.

After she had introduced herself she waited to hear his reply, only to be further intrigued when he began to lightly draw his paw around on the grass between them. Her eyes narrowed, not in any sort of emotion, but merely as she comprehended what was occuring. Realzing eventually he must have been writing something almost, she pushed up onto her hind legs and better positioned herself to be able to read what he had created.

Cryosphere

It was a name etched in ice along the blades of grass, the light reflecting off the swirling design in a way that reminded her of her own crystals. "Cryosphere," she hummed the name, testing it out on her own tongue. When he wiped away the latter half of his name, indicating to her [or at least what she interpretted] what he liked to be called. "Cryo," she tried it out as well, rolling the syllables around in her mouth before her features cracked into a smile.

"It's very nice to meet you Cryo, you have quite a fitting and beautiful name," she offered as she settled back down into a comfortable half lay, though she remained semi-propped in case he wrote anything else out for her. "My sister and I hail from the Northern Lands," she spoke, intent on striking up a conversation even if it was mostly one sided, "so coming across any dragons isn't common, especially unfamiliar ones. So seeing so many dragons congregated is as exciting for me as it is unnerving." She admitted, basically offering up an explanation on the reason she had come over and introduced herself. "I know we're supposed to be finding our riders, but I'm just as excited to meet other dragons too," enthusiasm oozed from the female despite her relaxed nature, proving she was enjoying her morning as a whole.

Movement to her side caught her attention and she swung her head to stare calmly at a young man who had approached them somewhat. He had kept a distance from them, not close enough to be perceived as any sort of nuisance, but not far enough away to go completely unnoticed either, though he might not have realized the latter. The tug in her chest pulsated when her eyes landed on his figure, alerting her that this very human might just be her rider. Odd, had he been drawn to her? Did he realize it? Or had something about her or the ice dragon just caught his attention enough to pull him from the crowd.

Deciding she wasn't quite ready to leave the companionship of her new icy friend, she had decided they were friends even if he didn't realize it yet, she remained where she was. But another trilling warble poured from her, a sound inviting the human to approach if he desired, though she would not force him to if he wasn't comfortable.

Turning her attention back to Cryosphere she offered him another warm and relaxed smile, and motioned towards the humans. "Will you seek your rider out soon, or wait for it too be less congested?" Nava felt momentarily bad for asking him an open ended question, her features contorting visibly as she thought. "Is it okay to ask you open ended questions? Or would you prefer yes or nos?" It did not bother her that the male didn't, or couldn't, speak, but she had never encountered it before and didn't want to make things difficult for him just because she wasn't sure if there was a specific way to do things.

The female leaned down to sniff him. Her eyes seemed to have softened, the intensity in them dimming slightly. She could understand why he was a bit terrified of her, but she could also sense his amusement about her being the opposite of his sibling's dragon. She herself found that slightly amusing, and she snorted a puff of white smoke, which promptly coiled itself around her horns. Neryth sat down, still much taller than him, her neck curved so she could look down at him. Her gaze had followed his to his sibling and the dragon for a moment, but had quickly flicked back to him.
'Do you think you have what it takes to be my Rider?' She asked through their mental link. There was a bit of a challenge to the question, even held in her eyes as she said it. She was testing him, to see if he had the courage to say yes with no hesitation. She wouldn't hurt him, of course not, but she did still want to test him. To see how strong his courage was.

He shook his head vigorously. "I wouldn't dare do something like that," a pause, and then he added, slightly teasing slightly joking, "I think you'd skin me alive if I did that." He was beginning to like this dragon. Even if he was a little bit... stuck up wasn't quite the right word, nor was self centered. Pompous? That didn't feel right either. He did envy the dragon for its self-assured attitude. He was so certain of himself, and Kai couldn't help envying that a little. He was confident, sure, but he often doubted his decisions in things. He doubted himself the most when it came to protecting Arya. He wanted so badly to take care of his sister, but he often doubted his choices and wasn't sure he was doing the right thing.
A soft smile touched his lips as Belv complimented his sister. "She'll like you. Hell, she'll think you're gorgeous. Considering she likes that dark colored one over there," he nodded towards the dragon Arya was bonding with at the moment, "she'll definitely think you're beautiful in comparison."

Tęgomir Venoušek
New Dragon || Air Class || Mentions: Shiro
Indirectly Mentions: Rhyor, Kenji

With a powerful flap of his wings, Tęgomir breezed past the crowd, gradually ascending into the sky. Clutched securely between his arm's grasp, his human companion dangled in mid-air. While he could easily have used his legs to stabilize the swaying figure, Tęgomir chose not to, finding amusement in giving his human a slight start.

Immediately upon making contact, Tęgomir sensed the familiar connection forming between them, a sensation that coursed from his body to his mind. It brought a momentary discomfort, more of a dull ache than true pain, causing a twitch of annoyance in the dragon's eye.

He allowed a few moments to pass, the sound of the voice reverberating in his thoughts, yet he brushed it aside. He wasn't inclined to respond to inquiries just yet. Couldn't his human see that he was preoccupied with flying? Only once they had attained a suitable altitude, positioned just beneath the billowing clouds, did the dragon ease into a leisurely glide, tracing circles above the valley akin to a hawk in flight.

Then, with a swift movement, Tęgomir lowered his head, his gaze fixing upon his human counterpart, their positions inverted. Before any words could be exchanged, his attention swiftly diverted to a storm dragon below, a sight that briefly captured his interest as it lifted its own rider into the air. 'Would ya look at that?' He mused internally, a note of regret colouring his thoughts. 'Aw, I ought to have done that. Look at 'em - that human looks scared half to death! Say, are you two related? That human looks just like ya!' He didn't know humans could do that! Since when could they make exact replicas of one another?

Warbling on, so engrossed he was in the unfolding spectacle below, Tęgomir's own rider came perilously close to slipping from his grasp. 'Sorry 'bout that, pal. Stop wiggling around, would ya?' He communicated through their mental link. Despite the distraction, Tęgomir remained fixated on the panorama beneath, alternating between observing his rider and the sprawling valley.

Oh, right. Amidst the chaos, Tęgomir had forgotten to respond to his human, who had previously mumbled something about earth and who was he and.. yada, yada. A twinge of boredom registered on the dragon's face as he glanced down at his human once more.

'Not earth, air!' He retorted, clearly misunderstanding the saying. 'Boy, you sure know nothing about your dragon types, huh?' A hint of disappointment tinged his thoughts as he suppressed the urge to roll his eyes—a futile gesture given that his eyes were pure white, making it nearly impossible to tell if he did.

'Who am I? Who are you?' He replied upon being asked, his annoyance growing. 'You're pretty boring, ain't ya? That's all you've got? Just a single screech of terror? You're making me seem pathetic over here.' Clearly dissapointed in his human's reaction, Tęgomir didn't bother holding back the frusteration in his tone.

'I mean, you could have begged for your life or something. If I were picked up randomly, you'd hear me hollering a mile away. How am I supposed to gain respect with the big guys, huh?' Still on about the topic, Tęgomir's expression only grew more sour, that is, until it suddenly vanished, a smile once more growing slowly.

Without any preamble, he released his grip on his human.

There, that oughta scare him! A little startle was good for the heart.

'Try flapping your arms, maybe it'll help ya!' He hollered, a clear sense of amusement evident as he observed the diminishing figure of the man. They were nearing the vicinity of the clouds, their altitude reaching several thousand feet. If one were to estimate, Tęgomir had approximately 50 seconds from the point of release to catch his falling human. However, given the current elapsed time, he likely had around 40 seconds—plenty of time, he reckoned.

So confident was Tęgomir, that when he finally dove after his plummeting human, he did so with an unhurried grace. Even in his leisurely descent, he rapidly closed the distance, and when he eventually caught up, he deliberately refrained from making the catch.

It wasn't until the perilous proximity of the ground—mere meters away—that Tęgomir finally relinquished his grip, his talons unwinding to curl around his human's arms. Stretching his wings wide, he arrested their downward momentum, executing a graceful halt that brought them to a gentle descent. With deliberate care, he lowered both himself and his human companion to the ground, and released him.

'Wasn't that just exhilarating!'

K'issuk Rán
Water Dragon || Female || Mentions: Kaia, Aalis Soile, Beollan
Indirectly Mentions: None

Amusement danced across her features as she swiftly registered the pairing—Sedna with a fire dragon. 'Oh, how lovely for him!' Her delight was momentarily interrupted by Kaia's groan, prompting her gaze to narrow as she lifted her tail, swatting him on the head. 'Be happy for him. I don't want to hear any of that moaning and groaning from you.' She spoke, only lowering her tail once detecting the underlying warmth in Kaia's words regarding his brother.

She had listened further as Kaia spoke of Kenji and Shiro, twins it seemed, spending time together. It was nice to listen to. She had always enjoyed stories, especially ones with memory. 'While it would be good to reunite,' she began, her tone carrying a note of caution as her gaze briefly flickered toward Kaia, 'do keep a watchful eye on the storm dragon.' While she didn't harbor distrust for their kind, she was aware of their capabilities and potential consequences.

Shifting her attention from Kaia, K'issuk directed her focus to Aalis, extending her hand to clasp the light dragon's own in a welcoming gesture. "And I mourn the Northern Lights," she echoed, a note of nostalgia coloring her words. "It is all very exciting. You can see why I enjoy such an event." She paused, feeling Kaia slip off of her back and approach Aalia. She stood there, beaming like a proud mother as they interacted, nodding her head upon being addressed once more. "It was simple with Kaia. It may vary from one pairing to another, but each pairing is often a matter of understanding and patience," she replied, her tone carrying a reassuring warmth.

As she conversed, she detected the change in Aalis' posture and the subtle hum that emanated from her. It seemed as if Aalis had picked up on the bond. "Rest assured, I shall keep my eye out," K'issuk affirmed, her gaze steady as she shooed Aalis away. "Now, go and seek out your human, don't let me keep you." With Aalis on her way, K'issuk turned her attention back to Kaia, her eyes catching the lingering presence of the fire dragon at the fringes of the forest.

'I'm going to speak with him,' she suddenly determined, motioning to the lingering form of the fire dragon. 'It must be difficult for him to return to this place.' Advancing a single step toward the fire dragon, her attention shifted to Kaia in a swift motion. 'Although I would prefer your company, I suspect he may not take kindly to a human's approach,' she explained, her tone considerate. 'I'll make it brief; call me if you need me.' With those words, K'issuk set off, her steps carrying her toward the fire dragon whose simmering anger was palpable.

As she approached, K'issuk maintained a composed demeanor, her approach measured and respectful. "Not one to partake in events?" She inquired with a touch of lightheartedness. "I, too, was hesitant at first, but such events had a way of growing on me." She continued, her tone maintaining its lightness. "I'm K'issuk, and you are?"

Clarabelle

Female | New Rider | Dragon: Navi | Mentions: (directly) Navi

Clara held her breath as the she-dragon touched her hand. Gods, was this real? Her heart warmed as she heard the dragon’s sweet voice filter into her head. Navi. A smile played on her lips, oh how she loved that name. Clarabelle could hear a slight tinge of an accent, curiosity rising in her. She made a mental note to ask Navi later about it.‘Hello Navi, my name is Clarabelle. You can call me Clara or Belle. I am so pleased to meet you!’ She lightly ran her hand over the dragon’s nose as she sent her message down the link. She couldn't keep the excitement from flowing into her voice.

Her heart swelled when she heard her dragon say she’s searched for her for so long. Clara could feel the connection solidifing into place, it was the most surreal feeling. She soaked in the feeling, her dragon was so sweet and gentle. Clara felt lucky. Lucky to have a kind dragon, to be chosen, to bond so easily. Her entire life she waited for this exact moment, and it was so much more than she ever could imagine.

The next step, to truly test the bond, was to ride. Her heart picked up, excitement and thrill racing in her veins. She had grown up training daily to keep up her strength to prepare for her future dragon. Her thighs were nicely toned and strong for the thin girl. Looking at her dragon, Clara had an overwhelming feeling that she fully trusted Navi would never let her fall and they would take care of each other. For the first time in her life, Clara felt absolutely at peace.

The female released a sound close to a purr. It was sort of a mixture between a hum and a cat's purr, a sound of pleasure and happiness. The universe had chosen well in picking her rider. And she approved, whole heartedly.
'Are you ready?' She asked softly, a slight challenge glinting in her eyes. She knew their next steps, having picked them up across the mental link. She herself was adjusting to this new sensation. It was odd to be in contact with a human's mind, but it also fascinated her. The creatures were so different from her own kind. She'd always wondered about the experience, and was thrilled to finally be experiencing it for herself. Her mother had spoken before about the bonding, as her mother had experienced it a few times before. But she'd never known it would feel like this. She felt complete. Like a piece of her had been missing her whole life, and she had finally found it.

Xyron

Psyche Dragon | Male | New Dragon | Rider: Borealis | Mentions: (directly) Borealis, (indirectly) Shiro, Tęgomir

Xyron was pleased that his rider didn’t cower in his wake. He wanted a confident rider, in both themselves and him. To him, a rider’s confidence was - is - essential. Not only for their own sake but also for their partnership with him. To continue to grow their bond, there must be trust and confidence in each other.

Xyron had caught a glance at a few dragons picking up their screaming riders. A fleeting moment of annoyance overcame him, how could they be so careless towards their riders? Testing the little humans is one thing, but actively putting them in danger was another.

As his gaze lingered on a terrified boy plummeting from the skies, Xyron's heart raced with a mix of concern and indignation. Observing an Air dragon playing recklessly with their own rider heightened his sense of disappointment in the dragons who disregarded their humans' safety. His low growl conveyed his disapproval, a rumble of sound echoing his displeasure. He tracked the rider and dragon, watching as the dragon caught the human just in time before lowering them both to the ground.

A deep exhale rumbled from within him, a sign of his inner turmoil. Shaking his formidable head, he communicated his disapproval to the world around him. It was all part of the process, each dragon tested their rider differently. But his attention swiftly returned to his own rider, Borealis, as he gently nudged her with his massive nose. The reassurance he offered was palpable, a silent promise that echoed through their bond. ‘I will not let you fall, little rider,' he vowed solemnly to Borealis, his words a testament to his unwavering commitment.

Xyron didn’t want her to fear him or fear for her life. It would hold them both back. But, he also wasn’t going to baby the young rider. He would test her in various ways, pushing and challenging her. But, none that would truly endanger the girl. Xyron puffed in her face once more before moving a bit away to lay down. He was getting increasingly claustrophobic where more dragons and humans running around. Finding a nice shady area, Xyron laid down with a grumble, still in eyesight of his new rider but back to observing everyone else.
