Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation | M: Layne "...do I want to know how you figured out you had that ability too..?" Silver whispered, her expression partway between fascination and concern, the idea of him having died previously a bit unsettling to her. He couldn't have been much older than her, so the thought raised many questions, most of which she knew she would keep to herself in fear of them being to personal or the information being to sensitive for him to reveal to her. ° Silver let out a nervous huff as she flicked some of her white hair back over her shoulder, her eyes seeming to glow dimly in the shade of the forest as she reached for a branch above her head, curling her fingers around it as she swiftly hauled herself up, swinging a leg over the branch as she fully hoisted herself up. ° "Say, do you think you'll be staying after today..? I'm sure if you give this place a bit more time it might run off on ya. Though I wouldn't blame you if you took off either." She gave him a small smile as she folded her legs over the branch, falling backwards as she hung upside down beside him, her cheeks turning a bright red as the blood rushed to her head. "I'm sure if you stick it out, we can stick it out together. Nothing like a good bit of banter between friends to get through everyday." She spoke softly, a small bit of her pleading voice seeping through as she tried to convince him to stick around.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire(?) Student // Respawn/winged // M: Silver A bubbling chuckle escaped from his lips as she questioned how he knew he had that ability. Well, he... just knew. The young man shook his head and exhaled slowly. "Well, we had a feeling it was inherited, since both of my brothers have it too. But the wings were kind of a clue." He rubbed the back of his neck and looked up toward the leaves. "I had a rough crash landing and that was my very first death... discolored my wings though." Layne paused in his walking as she reached up and pulled herself over one of the branches. His eyes flickered for a moment or two as she pleaded with him to stick around. His lip pursed for a moment or two before looking to the shadows. His blue eyes lowered to the ground before he finally sank back against the tree she was hanging from. His arms crossed over his chest, fingers tapping along his arms. "I don't know," Layne finally admitted, leaning his head back against the bark. "I really dont know. I probably should just so... so I have a safe place to really learn the extent of my abilities. But at the same time? I really don't want to stick around, not if I have to listen to those immature kids. If I could just... be myself? Yeah, sure. If I just... I didn't have to worry about one group or another--or even just make my own, maybe. But that's not happening." Layne's eyes flicked toward the shadows again. "So I don't know."

Askel/Male/Fire Student/Ice&Water manipulation/M:No ◊ I ignored the commotion in the hallway, and eventually fell asleep throughout the rest of the class. The teacher went on about plant propagation, (which he had learned about on the mainland). I woke up with a jolt as the bell ringed that singled the end of class. I walked out of the greenhouse and gave the teacher a small wave bye. I then continued going to his other classes as the day went on. During the rest of the school hours I didn't see anymore of Silver or the new kid. It didn't bother him whether he saw them again not. Not that he didn't like Silver or anything, was just used to being by himself and thought it was better for others that he was. ◊ While thinking about this my family would remind him of how he was always be nothing, the memory of his scar popped up in the back of my mind. He quickly pushed it back down as it tried to resurface. I continued walking down the hall away from my last class and decided to go to the cafeteria for dinner.

Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation | M: Layne "Well, if you say so. Just reckon it'd be a shame for you to go so soon. There's plenty to do around here. And like you said, it'll definitely give you a safe space to practice your abilities safely." Silver gave a smile as she continued to hang upside down, her hands gripping the branch as she flipped herself around to hang the right way up before the branch slipped from her grasp, letting her drop gracefully to the ground with a light thud as she wiped her hands off onto her pants. ° "You shouldn't worry yourself too much with the groups for now. Just, focus on your studies and making friends. I only have my sights set on one of those anyways, and I'm sure you can tell from my truancy, which it is." She chuckled a bit as she walked up to Layne's side. "No one in my family had any abilities, so they were shocked when they found out I did. Guess they couldn't wait any longer to hand me over to this place to take care of." She reached a hand up as she nervously rubbed the back of her neck, her cheeks growing a slight pink as she recalled a small bit of her past before she arrived at the school. ° "Oh well. I'm sure you'll do great here Layne, if you choose to stay that is." She gave Layne a small reassuring pat on the shoulder as she set about moving forward, making her way over some fallen trees and through some semi dense undergrowth.

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire(?) Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Silver Layne shook his head lightly. He had tried to focus on his studies at first and the next thing he knew was the groups were already fighting and pissed. At him. Which was the worst feeling for the new student. His sapphire eyes lifted as Silver spoke about sticking around and how she had come to the school. "At least you have a place to go," Layne said quietly. "Even if it's just us... we want you here--I do at least," he walked after her. "You've ... you're like the only one who hasn't done anything... stupid. You're the only one who's ever cared," he added as an afterthought. "Well, Dawson did. But... I... don't know where he went." Layne shook his head clear of those thoughts. "It can't really be that hard to just start our own group, right? Thunder, fire, wh... what about... I dunno... Stars? The Starry group or something?" He pushed one of the leaves out of the way. "A neutral sort of... place for students to go."

Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation | M: Layne "Aside from when I snapped at you earlier but still. I like to think my heads mainly screwed on right." She gave a soft smile as she continued making her way around the forests dense brushery. "Thunder... Fire... And.. Starry?" She repeated as she sounded out the last part. "Hmm. I don't know, there's always been just the two groups as far as I'm aware in terms of this places history. Thunder or rather... Lightning and Fire can be rather destructive so if there was to be a third I'd suspect it'd follow a similar pattern." ° "Ice or snow seems like it could fit in.. If you're thinking about something that can be dangerous yet neutral, holding its own beauty and all that. Snow can be dangerous, extremely cold, I mean there's blizzards and all. But outside of that it can be quite dazzling, don't you think?" Silver turned to look for any reaction from Layne in regards to her idea, her white hair flashing in the light as it was swung over her shoulder to lay against her back, her golden eyes searching his own. ° "Course it's all in theory, nothing concrete, but.. it makes sense in my head at least."

Layne Marie // 17 // Male // Fire(?) Student // Respawn/Winged // M: Silver A flash of anger and emotion crossed his face as Silver returned her own thoughts to his idea. His lips pulled into a rather irritated frown that shifted more toward the uncomfortable side. It showed in his eyes, hardly meeting hers at all after she finished speaking. There were a lot of things that Layne Marie was. Dangerous was not one of them. The thought of having to be dangerous at all sent an uncomfortable knot in his stomach. Ice? No. Ice was cold, unforgiving and deadly. Ice came after the heat left, in the dark of the night and was cruel and lifeless. He had stopped walking as well, putting a distance between himself and Silver. "I'm not..." Layne shook his head. "I don't have that. I'm not dangerous. I'm not destructive--I have no outward abilities. I have nothing like that. Ice is... cold and lifeless. But the stars? The stars are there as guides, they look and watch and see everything. They are there no matter what. I'm not looking for something dangerous, Silver. I'm looking for something calm, peaceful--a place to go when no one else cares. Somewhere to listen--no matter what the stars are always there." Layne shook his head, turning away partially. "I... guess no one else really knows that. No one really knows... what it's like to not have anything you can control."

Silver | Female | Fire Student | Energy Manipulation | M: Layne Her gaze fell a little to the ground as her smile disappeared, her features overwashed by a look of hurt and a bit of concern as it etched its way into her gaze. "Layne.. I didn't... You're not.." She stuttered a little, her mind going a mile a minute as she tried to work up something to say. She hadn't meant for it to sound so.. harsh. She had always been fond of the pale blue sheen that ice and snow gave off, like frosted pearls from the sea. The way the icicles danced with rainbows as sunlight shimmered and bent through the cold peaks. ° "...You are right... The stars are pretty magnificent..." She said in a whispered tone as she stepped towards Layne, still keeping some distance as her eyes now avoided his own. "...Do you... Have a favourite constellation...?" Her voice was wavering yet soft and sweet, full of warmth and care as she did her best to help Layne feel better. She knew the stress of a first day could be rough, given he had a few run ins with other members of the groups, she couldn't imagine his thoughts right now. ° "...and perhaps... some of your words do carry truth... but I can say you aren't the only one who wishes for a peaceful escape... I'm here for you Layne. For however short a time we've known each other, you're a solid guy. You'd definitely be someone worth following. I can guarantee that much."
