All wolves are subordinate until the age of 3. When they are 3, they will be assigned a position. All wolves retire from their position by the age of 13.
Description of each rank will go from highest ranks to lowest ranks.
There is no rank "Warrior" due to the fact that all wolves are potentially able to battle and be pack warriors of any rank. The PvP warriors are identified by * at the end of their name.
Alphas
Choosing the Future Alphas
When the current alphas turn 10 years old, they have the litter called the, "For the Future Litter". If there is no space in the pack, four wolves will be chosen to leave the pack. The For the Future Litter will have the future 'Main Reigning Alpha,' Beta, and Delta. Once the litter is 2 years of age, their future rankings will be determined either by a randomizer or by the wolfs overall value. Any wolf with a boost for dominance is automatically alpha. Any defects that effect character attributes will disqualify the wolf from potentially becoming Alpha, Beta, or Delta. The future alphas mate is chosen through The Wolf Party or through auction after the Main Reigning Alpha is chosen. Once both alphas are chosen, they're ranked as Future Alpha.
The Rise of the Future Alphas
The future Alphas will immediately be fully maxed in their character attributes using the mush saved in account, "Future Alphas." They will spend their second year of life hunting with the current alphas so they can gain battle experience. The alphas will only intervene in battle if the opponent is too strong for the young wolves. By year three, the wolves will officially be ranked Male Alpha and Female Alpha.
Responsibility of an Alpha
Upon year 3, the current alphas shall retire as elders and the new alphas may have their first litter. Once again, if there is no space, 3-4 wolves will be removed from the pack. After the first litter, the alphas will only mate when necessary. The retired alphas will have all their gear removed which is then applied to the new alphas. The new alphas shall now lead pack exploration, be the main warriors in PVP, and save mush for their desendents. As they reach age 10, they will have a For the Future Litter in which the future main reigning alpha, beta, and delta will be chosen. Then they shall retire at the age of 13 and the cycle shall continue. As wolves are removed from the pack, the past alphas shall never be removed.
Beta
Choosing the Future Beta
The process of choosing the beta is similar to choosing the alpha at the age of 2, however, this pack only holds one position for a beta. The beta will be the only beta therefore, a mate will not be a determining factor on the sex of the beta. As betas are generally stronger and bigger than the alphas, any battle boosts will automatically make a beta if a boosted wolf hasn't already taken the alpha position. The dominance will only ever reach 199 cp. Once the beta is chosen, the wolf will be titled, "Future Beta."
Rise of the Beta
Apon year two the future beta will immediately have their dominance (-1), agility, and stealth maxed. They will join the future alphas in exploration to raise BE. If either of the alphas BE is lower than the future beta, the beta will only persue their opponents until the alphas can catch up. After year three, the beta will not persue opponents if the alphas BE are lowers than the betas.
Responsibility of a Beta
Year three the betas title will officially be Beta. They will spend their life helping fight for the pack, attend in events, save mush, and protecting the alphas. Are the alphas ever to be injured in battle, the beta will always be there. Any unnecessary CP will be applied to any open Character Attributes in the Beta.
Shne'um
"Shaman"
Choosing the Shne'um
The Shne'um position is only given to wolves born with the Ancestral Piety boost.
Responsibility of the Shne'um
They almost always join in exploration with the Alphas and/or Beta. During the Full Moon Celebration, they lead exploration groups.
Delta
Choosing the Future Delta
The delta is the same as the beta, however, there is no concern for boosts and most defects. The only disqualifying defects are those that effect stealth and agility attributes. There will only be one delta.
Rise of the Delta
The future delta is chosen at year two and will join the future alphas and beta in exploration. Their battle, agility, and stealth are maxed. Their dominence will only be higher than the other pack members, but lower than the alphas and beta. The delta will let the other wolves raise their BE higher than their own.
Responsibility of a Delta
The Delta will help save mush and relay information to the rest of the pack. They will mostly pursue in battle and join in offense when necessary.
Omega
Choosing the Omega
When the current Omega retires from their position, there is a chance for the
year 3 wolves to be assigned Omega. A wolf chosen for Omega is preferably one with a talent in empathy or with the highest CP in empathy. If neither are available, one year 3 wolf is randomly chosen for Omega and the CP in empathy is maxed.
Responsibility of the Omega
Omegas are often misunderstood to be the lowest ranking wolf in the pack due to the way wolves eat. In fact, Omegas are highly respected wolves that are high ranking. The Omegas job is to keep peace in the pack. While all the wolves are eating, the Omega will intimidate the other wolves like they're trying to steal their food. This helps the pack rotate while they eat and helps keep the wolves from fighting each other. The Omega is rewarded at the end of the eating session. Generally the Alpha or Beta will save high ranking meat for the Omega. The Omega often initiates play with other wolves in the pack, they will help prevent fights between two wolves by lowering themselves to look smaller and lick the wolves faces to help calm them down.
Lead Warrior
Choosing the Lead Warrior
This position is perferably given to those with battle boosts or highest BE. This position cannot be given at random.
Responsibility of the Lead Warrior
The Lead Warrior will PvP the most out of all the other wolves. Once they reach 525 BE, they will almost never join in exploration so they are always available and ready for battle. They are very careful to preserve their health and stay well fed and hydrated. In a battle of 2+ wolves, they will choose their battle partner(s).
Lead Guardian
Choosing the Lead Guardian
The Lead Guardian position is preferrably given to the subordnate with battle boost or highest BE. This position cannot be given at random.
Responsibility of the Lead Guardian
The Lead Guardian is similar to the Lead Warrior, however, they stay close to the den, food hole, relic hole, mushroom hole, and apple hole. They rarely travel away from those areas. They spend most of their time guarding the den. Especially when there are pups. They will only travel in exploration when required after they reach 525 BE. They only battle during defensive PvP (when someone sends me a fight request) and will almost never battle in offensive PvP (when I send someone a fight request. The Lead Guardian is resposible for where the Guardians are posted (guarding the den, the food hole, relic hole, mushroom hole, or apple hole.)
Lead Hunter
Choosing the Lead Hunter
Preferably given to the highest BE wolf otherwise chosen at random. The Lead Hunter, once chosen, is maxed in battle and agility.
Responsibility of the Lead Hunter
The alphas of course lead hunts, however, the Lead Hunter is free to call groups of wolves together, generally the hunters that are available, and lead exploration.
Lead Scout
Choosing the Lead Scout
The Lead Scout is preferably given to the wolf with the highest CP or with boosts and/or talents that include luck, perception, wisom and/or stealth. Otherwise position is given at random.
Responsibilty of the Lead Scout
The Lead Scout is almost never around rendevous sites or the den. They are responsible for assigning certain chunks of territory for the Scouts to scout. They will often join in pack exploration, mostly with the Hunters, or sometimes even gather the Scouts to explore with them. During PvP the Lead Scout will almost never battle in defensive PvP. They will almost always battle in Offensive PvP.
Lead Healer
Choosing the Lead Healer
The Lead Healer is generally given to those with boosts/talents in empathy. Otherwise, the Lead Healer position is given at random.
Responsibility of the Lead Healer
The Lead Healer holds the same responsibilities as the Healers. However, the Lead Healer is simply in charge of the healers. The Lead Healer assigns Healers to injured wolves.
Guardian
Choosing Guardians
This position is sometimes given to those with highest BE or battle boosts but usually chosen at random.
Responsibility of a Guardian
Guardians are assigned to a post (food hole, relic hole, den, mushroom hole, or apple hole). They guard their assigned position and battle only in defensive PvP. They rarely join in exploration.
Hunter
Choosing Hunters
Those with battle boosts or talents or those with higher BE are sometimes chosen to be hunters but usually hunters are chosen at random.
Responsibility of a Hunter
Hunters keep themselves mostly available to help where needed and to be ready at any time to join exploration groups when they have open spots in their exploration group. They are either assigned to exploration groups by the Lead Hunter, or those who are leading their group will ask a Hunter to join them if available. If a Hunter isn't busy in exploration, they will help out with PvP battles, help gather material for Healers, train battle trainees, help keep an eye on pups, play with pups, etc.
Scout
Choosing Scouts
This position is preferably given to those with boosts/talents including perception and luck. Usually assigned at random.
Responsibility of a Scout
The Lead Scout assigns Scouts to scout chunks of territory. They look out for intruders, prey, and any potential threats. When they spot prey, they will call for any nearby pack members to begin a hunt. When there's an intruder, they will call out for available warrior wolves (wolves with 525+ BE) or if they are a warrior wolf themselves, they will battle the intruder. Scouts almost never battle in offensive PvP.
Pup sitter
Choosing pup sitter
Pup sitters are chosen at random. There will only be 2 pup sitters
Responsibility of a pup sitter
Pup sitters help raise pups. Disciplining them, showing them the proper response to rankings, hunting, etc. They stay primarily at the den and rendezvous sites with the pups while the alphas are away.
Healer
Choosing Healers
Preferably given to those with boosts/talents in empathy. Otherwise, the position of healer is generally assigned at random.
Responsibility of a Healer
Healers will gather material for potions and make potions, or they will gather robin and blue jay feathers. They take care of any injured wolves they find or are assigned to.
Cursed
Definition of the Cursed
Every litter born has 1/15th of a chance of producing a Cursed wolf. Once the pack has a Cursed member, there is no chance of the pack having another Cursed member born while a Cursed wolf is still alive. This is the only rank in the pack that is assigned at birth and not assigned at age 3. If the cursed litter has a pup with a defect, that pup is automatically given the Cursed rank. Otherwise, the pup is chosen at random and cannot be removed from the pack. They wear the Cathedral Eyes gear to be recognized on sight. They fill up a battle trainee spot for the entirety of their life so the pack is unable to train 6 wolves at one time. The Cursed will never have dominance higher than 0 and will never be able to participate in PvP. They will only live to the age of 9. They will never see retirement and experience respect as a Gamma. The benefit of the Cursed is, their CP in agility and battle can be maxed and they can help train the battle trainees by only pursuing after they reach 525+ BE, only stepping in to help with stronger enemies. The Cursed is the lowest rank a wolf can be however, they are still just as loved and accepted by the pack as any other member. They shall never retire to elders, however, in their older years, they are by some the most respected for their life of restriction.
S'eluwh
This word means, "Elder." These wolves are highly respected for their wisdom, life experience, and contribution to the pack. Stsi'elh "Respected one." They have battled and experienced the most of life, they are hwq'ilus "dependable, knowledgable." Of course former alphas are most respected by the pack, even most respected by the current alphas. S'eluwh are free to continue contribution to the pack as the please, or they may spend their older years relaxing and enjoying retirement.
