The dynamics of the Dragonbone Mountain clan would never be the same when one of their blood, though not their clan, arrived from the South to conquer. His name was Maelor, and he took the name Valmara, of his she-warrior ancestor. Bearing her golden eyes, Maelor triumphed in one-to-one battle with the Alpha of the Dragonbone Mountains, and took his daughter, Miriamele as his destined mate. The Dragonbone Mountain pack's bloodlines trace to the royal southern family by three males: Maelor, Caldera, and Desmond. By blood, Caldera is the closest to the Bron ruling bloodline--as the great-grandson of Queen Astral and King Terran Reid through their second son Highborn Prince Justinian. A fourth bloodline was introduced much later, unbeknown to Mordred before his death. One of Aemon's illegitimate youngest daughters found refuge in the pack, by the name of Aemma--who claimed she was the daughter of a Queen Kalahar. She did not disclose her kingly ancestry and only wished to dwell in the north isolated from both her parents.

When the royal house in the south finally fell, bewitched to a deathlike sleep until the end days, the Dragonbone wolves sought to salvage any pups born of their southern kin.
