Chapter 1
Mellow...
You walk soon a meadow. Tiredly, you stretch and squint at the sky. Those are big birds, you think hungrily. As continue to squint, your eyes begin to burn, you look away and blink. I could've sworn I saw legs...must be hallucinating, its a hot day. You are a lone wolf. You are not looking to join any packs, but instead observe them. Here, you smell the scent of wolves. Suddenly, you here a crash.
You turn around. A tall she... wait..is that a cat?! You don't notice her massive wings, mesmerized. You've never seen such a big cat, she's even bigger than you! Slowly, you begin to examine her. She is half-black half-white with huge, majestic wings. You gawk at her as she tilts her head curiously at you.
”Uh... Hello?“ She asks. You snap out of it and begin to stutter. ”I- uh- I..“ You suddenly forget how to speak. “Whats the matter? Cat got your tongue?” She half-teased. “But in all seriousness. What are you doing?” She said flatly, more as a statement rather than a question. “Who- where... Who are you?” You manage to say, although you accidently raise your voice. “Calm down, no need to shout. I, I am Mellow.... And..who might you be?“ She asked calmly, noticing your anxiety. You struggle to stutter out your name. You tell her why your here, and soon warm up to her.
You ask Mellow about this pack. She looks solemnly out into the distance. ”This pack is for the outcasts, the hybrids, the unwanted. I myself am an Everlasting. A type of feline, much larger in size than normal. This pack contains many hybrids, including wolf-birds, and such. There are over 5,000 members, altogether.” She explains. You ask her about herself. She pauses. “I was born an everlasting, 40 years ago. It may seem old to a young wolf like you, but we can live up to millions of years. We are first born outside this planet, far off into the stars. I was, well, different from everybody. I was... never injured by non-serious wounds. I never broke a bone, although shots and such do hurt me, its not as bad. The others didn't like that, though. You see, I was born lower in the anarchy, and well, it was life or death. I was soon exiled, and found myself here. I decided, I should help others, others like me. Us that don't fit in.”
You talk for a while, but soon decide you should get home. You say goodbye, And promise to return.
And so, the journey of Mellow Fangs begins.
