Bourn
Hey there newcomer, my name is Bourn, though you can call me whatever you want! Some of my nicknames are self-given, though I have a few that are from some of my friends on here. I tend to adopt nicknames from people if they are used more than once, and I haven't heard one that I disliked. Anyway, I am a 23 year old Bisexual female, I have five chickens, three dogs, and four cats, and they are all pains in my ass and I love them like they are my own children. I am a huge Disney fan, though I do have three Disney movies that are the focus of my ire. If you wish to know what they are, ask and I shall tell. If you wish to know why I hate them with every fiber in my being, be careful where you tread because you will get the full blown rant with no pulled punches. I am sorry if any of these three are your favorite movies but I am immovable on this matter.
Anyway, this is the part of my page where I talk about myself, which I am both horribly bad and wonderfully good at. I have ADHD, Autism, and Anxiety. The big A's. Those are just a few of my many issues, but we won't get into that. I love talking about my special interests, mainly animals, books, and all things Doctor Who related.
Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Anne with an E, Doctor Who, Bones, and Reba are my six comfort shows that I will watch on repeat for the rest of my life. They are the peak of all forms of television and no one can tell me otherwise. My favorite books are Warriors, The King Killer Chronicles, and The Underland Chronicles. If you have questions about any of those, buckle in because I will tell you everything about it without meaning to. Sometimes I just don't know when to stop.
I love to Role play, though I do go through points where I am completely uninterested, or where I get writers block, or sometimes just plumb forget to reply. If that happens feel free to message me and see what is going on because, out of those three scenarios, it is most likely the last of them and I just don't realize it.
I also do artwork, which you can look at on my Characters page. Those are just a few of the ones I have done, though I can't take all the credit. I am using line art lately because of burnout. I do commissions, and you can find the link to that down below, unless I forget to post it, in which case just ask me for the link.
When Role playing I have a set amount of rules to make things simpler for all those involved. They are as follows;
1. All your posts must be at least two paragraphs. That means up to seven sentences per paragraph, not seven sentences as a whole. I get that writer's block is a thing but don't make a habit out of sending me two-three sentences every single time you reply. And give me a heads up if you are struggling to write a reply.
2. If you want to RP then name the PM you send me, "Blues Wish," don't ask why, just do.
3. Detail! I don't want to read something like this: Billy was thirsty. Billy went to the fridge and grabbed some milk. Taking a drink he smiled. "this is good." I WANT COLOR! Make it pop, make me savor every sentence! Something I would consider acceptable is: Feeling parched after his run, Billy opened his refrigerator and peered inside. Frowning, he skimmed over the bottles of alcohol and soda that lined the walls of the white appliance. Licking his lips he grabbed the half-gallon of milk and emptied the last of it into a glass. Taking a drink he grinned, sighing in raptor as he leaned against the counter, taking a long pull of the cool white drink. "That's some good stuff." He muttered to himself, wiping at the mustache the milk had created on his upper lip.
3. Keep things grammatically correct and check for spelling errors. Those red lines show up everywhere! So here is a suggestion. USE THEM! It tells you what word is misspelled and how to correct it. Now I am not perfect, I understand that things happen and you can miss a few errors, but don't make it a common thing.
4. Never mind, if you want to role play with me then name your PM "Oath Taken" and then send me an example of your RP style. I don't mean to take your time and make a really long example that you won't match in the actual RP. If things don't match up then I will end the RP.
5. Cursing is fine but keep it to a minimum. I don't need the 'F' bomb to be dropped in every post. (Yes I have had that happen before.)
6. Actually, name the PM you send me "Blue Oath Taken." And include the example.
7. This is the most important rule. If you aren't enjoying the role play, then let me know. I can't fix it if you aren't helping me. And if you are going to end it, don't be afraid to let me know. Nothing pisses me off more than someone just abandoning an RP without letting me know.
If you can meet these requirements then I applaud you! Not many can. I hope I don't sound too horribly mean in this but I am very strict when it comes to my rules. I love role playing but nothing puts me through burn out faster than having an RP partner who can't match what I am giving them. And when I burn out, its not just for that one RP, its for every RP that I am in at that point in time. So its not just you and I suffering, it is every role play partner I currently have.
Okay, now we can drop the serious tone and continue with getting to know who I really am. Because as much as I love myself and this site, I do tend to avoid communication for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Once I get comfortable with someone I am easily engage-able. I am also more prone to chit chat when I am in PM's or when someone is actively and purposefully engaging me in the conversation.
