In any situation it's important not to go along with someone's irrational thoughts. I regret getting involved with my partner's OCD, I thought I was helping her by going along with her obsessions. She found out I could "bless" stuff and it would stop her from doing the compulsions, so now I'm trying to remove that from the ritual

Yeah, I assumed so. My partner has OCD and it sounded like something she would be upset about. She'll have these periods where an activity or object will be "cursed" so she cannot touch/do them because her brain is telling her not to, both for an outlandish reason or none at all

Not sure about schizophrenia (I think that some who have it may have paranoia or delusions) but OCD is where someone experiences obsessions (not like hyperfixations or pleasant things) where they might get intrusive thoughts that they believe that they must do an action to prevent it from happening or to ease it. But it never really goes away from doing the compulsion, such as washing hands when touching a doorhandle or checking the door in case someone might break in.
