Imagine being a dog owner and being told that you have to reschedule because the vet med team couldn't get a ear swab done on your dog with a ear infection to treat it properly, and stopped in the middle of the prodecure to explain that you have to come back because your dog was too stressed?

Gotcha gotcha. Yea I think that's not good medicine if it puts the patient at further risk of injury or illness. I don't think I could ever work fear free honestly. I like fear friendly.

It says to just stop the prodecure regardless and explain to a cilent that you cannot do anything more and that they need to inconvience themselves and reschedule

It also has dilated pupils as a sign if stress for cats.. most cats I've met that have dilated pupils.. aren't stressed.

You can use IM/IV sedation and NOT reschedule though. If it's something that needs addressed immediately you don't reschedule. Can I ask for more details?

Anyone in vet med? How do you feel about Fear Free's belief in telling owners that you can't do something because their pet is too stressed out and their pet is there for legitimate reason and it is not one you can reschedule for?
