| It's crazy to me that people raise kids, the intent being that they become who they were meant to be, and then get /mad/ when that doesn't align with their own beliefs. Like, I get being mad if your kid ends up being a felon, but just being different from you shouldn't be /wrong/ |

| Sarcophapup i mean they didn't treat me differently until i came out to them, which could've been a mistake moon I've reminded them almost everytime i visit. Sometimes i just don't bother though because is exhausting repeating the same shit over and over. I mean, even my teachers back when i want in college called me my chosen name when i hadn't yet changed it. I think my parents just hate everything related to this stuff. |

| Evergreen, 6 years? And they still do it? I'm shit at remembering names but even I'd get there in maybe a year or two. Even my grandparents who don't really get it try to acknowledge my cousins new name (really it's just an extra letter, not that hard). At this point, depending on where they are on the spectrum (confused but got the spirit vs outright ahole), I'd either call them a completely wrong name everytime they address you or outright no contact them if you're able. Only you know what they're like and their tendencies just make sure you stay safe in the process |
