Padawan looked to Lyona, Kyber, and then to his mother, Padmé.
"Padmé, we need the den room for when Kvika has her pups, but we don't want to force you to give up your son," Kyber was saying. "Are you willing to let him go?"
Padmé looked to Padawan, who sidled up to his mother. Padmé had dealt with something like this before, but it hadn't been this far into their puphood. A tear began to fall down the mother's cheek. It ended up landing on the young pup's head, and he jumped in surprise. "Padawan," she asked him, "are you okay with being given to another pack? We need the room."
The pup nodded, and Padmé turned to the Alphas. "I give permission for him to be given to another pack."
Padawan, then realizing the stakes, jumped onto his mother's back, as if to hold on longer. He realized that he may not see her again. Padmé held on too, wanting to keep her pup close by.
