"I've never been more disappointed in you," an enraged, elderly Alpha spat at his tired son as he paced to and fro within the den, "you are my child, and I expect you to follow me rules. This-" He paused to nod towards a female that was speaking with the Betas and Alpha female a few feet away from the den's mouth before continuing, "-this is mutiny."
The young, soon-to-be Alpha rolled his remaining orb, the other being but a mere shadow of what it used to be for reasons he, and no one else, would discuss. "You told me to follow in your footsteps, and I am. Is this not what you want?" He gazed up at the frantic old brute with an emotionlessly chilled expression. His lids were half-closed, as if he was either bored out of his wits or about to fall asleep any minute.
"I'm only doing what you asked me to do, and if accepting my friend's offer as king is what that takes, then that's that," he added monotonously.
"Don't speak to me like I am ignorant, Laufey."
Laufey only grunted and stretched out just as his mother entered the den.
"That Tesson lass is a fine lady, very laidback," the elegant Alpha hummed coolly, brushing her tail along her mate's side. Laufey gave a half-assed grin at his father, whom scowled in response.
Before the older male could say anything, Laufey lifted himself from the den floor and ventured away from his parents with relieved pride to join his new co-ruler. He wouldn't agree to be the mate of the female, considering he thought of her as a simple comrade, which was why his father was upset, even though said female agreed. Together, they would raise the greatest dynasty of mortals... as friends.

Despite his frightening demeanor, Laufey is anything but "mean". He may be considered cruel by making his "victims" fall into an extreme paranoia so that they'd destroy themselves instead of him doing it first, but that was simply tactics. He loves to frighten others in such manners- nonetheless, he is a social, wise soul, and is completely open-minded... unless someone is begging for mercy, in which he turns his head and stalks off to find his co-ruler so that she can deal with them.

Tesson gazed down upon the smaller female with a flat expression, although deep within her topaz orbs, pain radiated in waves. "I despise feelings more than I despise those whom cannot keep their mouths shut," she rumbled in response. Her orbs flickered elsewhere as if they were personally trying to avoid eye-contact, whereas Tess herself didn't seem at all bothered by the foreign presence that'd she'd met just briefly before this moment.
Her gaze dropped to the pavement and she focused solely upon her converse high-tops as if they were the most important thing in the world as she mumbled rather bitterly, "I don't want to understand emotions unless the only way to avoid them is to know them." She lifted her attention to King's face when she heard the second question. People hadn't mentioned her previous name in a... very long time. "I don't care," she hummed finally. At least the woman didn't know her birth-given name. If that one had been mentioned, the beast within would be ripped from its chains, and it would probably either destroy everything and suddenly become dormant again, or destroy everything and try to return to hell to its parents.
Either way, something was getting destroyed. Luckily, the only people that knew Tess's birth-given name were her parents and her sister, Fen.
