Boundless - they both sound super interesting. The girl would fit the rest of the group better, and I personally find very calculating characters really interesting, but having that sorta odd-man-out role could be cool to see for the guy.

You could make the guy a kingdom dweller! They have former roles, so he could be a former knight? (Since the dwellers left their homes, so that was just their job in Kielsor)
