Lo sniffed the air, his puppy eyes opening in the warm sunlight. He looked up at his mother, yawning, staring at her blinding white fur with round, open eyes. His mother stared down at him and pulled up her top lip, grunting in disgust. She turned her head, her cold, icy blue eyes staring out at the wide clearing in front of her. Suddenly, a loud bark rand through the forest, and all of the pack came into the clearing, form a large, neat, organized circle, their white tails swishing across the dirt in unison. Alpha came into the center of the circle, her dagger-like teeth jutting out of her mouth, her muscles bulging and coarse under skin. She snarled, and glared at the group of wolves, and they bowed their heads, whining in submission to their mighty leader. “Greetings, my pack, it is I, your Alpha Dagger-Fang.. Today is a.. Special day.. The day we look at the new pups, and decide if they live or not..”,Alpha said, drool spilling from her mouth as she licked her chops, staring over at the large cluster of pups huddled together. Lo’s blood went cold, he was afraid, though he didn’t know why, for some reason, something seemed dangerous about his mighty leader, but he didn’t know what. Alpha let out a piercing howl followed by a growl and stalked over to the pups, licking her chops. The Mother Wolf quickly jumped out of the way, whining and flattening her ears to her head as Alpha bit savagely at the air. Alpha looked down at the pups, and grabbed one, a small white fluff of a pup, with crystal clear eyes and a small dot of brown on his nose. The fluff sneezed, wriggling in Alpha’s jaws. Alpha flung the pup to the ground and snarled at it, baring her teeth. The fur whimpered and stared at Alpha wide eyed, shaking with fear. Alpha stared at the pup for a long time, and suddenly, she snarled and grabbed at the pup’s leg, dragging him by it. The pup let out a long howl of pain, and Mother Wolf tensed, clenching her jaw. Alpha then sprang off the ground and landed at the edge of a large pit. Between her clenched teeth, Alpha snarled, “We will have no IMPURITIES in this pack!”, and tossed the pup into the pit. Lo stared in absolute horror as every “impurity” was tossed into the pit, injured and terrified first. Every pup that was “pure” was given a growl and then was sent back with Mother Wolf, who licked them on the head. Lo, quivered with fear until at last, Alpha reached him. Her eyes widened, and she growled, loud and clear. It was a low long growl that threw almost every insult it could at Lo. Lo suddenly had an idea, realizing that all the “strong wolves were kept, Lo growled, his tiny, weak muscles tensing. He barked and charged at Alpha’s leg, biting down hard. Alpha snarled even louder and bashed him away, clawing deeply at his head. Lo winced, his body shaking. Before Lo could do anything, Alpha leapt, and flipped Lo onto his back, biting at his underbelly and throwing him into the pit. Lo blinked, pain seeping through every one of his bones, he looked up at the the pups, their bloodied bodies slowly limping towards him for warmth, and then, the world went black.
Lo woke up in pain, he opened his eyes, whining. He looked around the pit and saw nothing but blood stains. The pups were gone. Lo rolled onto his feet weakly and stared up at the sky, suddenly, he had a bust of energy, and sprang to the edge of the pit, his heart racing. Lo struggled, and finally mustered the energy to hoist his broken body out of the pit. He crawled forward, and once he reached the edge of the forest, he promptly passed out.
