The night was dark. The sky was pitch black. It was new moon. No stars were to be seen. But.. in that darkness, red flickered in the distance. Reds, oranges, yellows. The world was afire. Howls and screams were heard; filled with pure fear.

The fire crackled in his eyes. His silhouette contrasting with the bright colours of the fire, he turned tail and walked away. Wildlife bumped into him, screaming for him to help. But the male acted as if they didn't exist and continued on his ways.

Then, one, lonely scream entered his ears. The male stopped in his tracks, flattening his audits as he swiftly turned around. That scream sounded so familiar, yet he couldn't quite put his paw on who's it was.
Without hesitation, the male let out an angry roar, before sprinting off.
Straight into the fire.

"What are you doing, you fool?!" An angry yell came, appearing to come from a pitch black wolf. "Are you crazy, Pidge? You're going to die in there!" he snarled, tackling the smaller wolf.
The tackled wolf growled back, rolling and pushing the larger male off.
"Back off, Imlay!" shouted Pidge, his audits pinning to the side.
The wolf, named Imlay, lashed out. "I'm your Caretaker! You listen to me!" he barked, his tail lashing. The smaller male licked his chops, tasting the metal-like taste of blood. "That's it!" he hissed, starting to circle Imlay. "You're dead!"
