Biography
I was playing when it happened. Leon and I were pretending we were Jonathan Christopher Shadowhunter, the very first Shadowhunter. I was pretending to be Raziel, while Leon was Jonathan. I bestowed him with a stick to symbolize the Mortal Sword, a puddle to symbolize the Mortal Mirror, and a leaf to symbolize the Mortal Cup.
In the middle of our play, Leon's mother called him in. He said he would be right back, so I said I would wait for him.
Leon was gone for ten minutes before I finally got bored and wandered around the Institute grounds. I ran around with a stick, pretending to defeat demons and Downworlders.
But then everything changed. I was five, barely even a Shadowhunter. My first Mark was still fresh on my skin when I was taken.
I don't remember how I was taken from the Institute, or where I was taken. I remember the Downworlders who took me. They kept forcing me to eat and drink, but only enough to keep me alive. The food they gave me was molded or infested with maggots, and I remember getting sick often and crying for my parents.
When I would cry, the vampire would pull my hair and hiss in my face and make me bleed. And then, instead of biting me and feeding off me, she would lick my injuries clean of blood, humiliating me and calling me awful words.
The werewolf guarded me at night.
The warlock was in charge of feeding me and healing me when I got sick.
They would carve runes into my skin with blades in places they could cover with clothes.
I don't remember how long I was there, but Leon says it was ten years.
Leon waited for me, led the investigation to find me when everyone else had thought I just ran off. He saved me.
We are parabati, Leon and I.
When I came back, I had to relearn everything. It took me years to stop having nightmares. Occasionally, Leon will stay up and watch over me to make sure I don't have a nightmare. And, if I do, he will sit by my bed and talk to me while I sleep. While I can't hear him, it soothes me and helps me sleep.
This is how I developed MPD. This terrible event brought upon me by Downworlders. I will never ever trust another Downworlder again.

My name is Alegandra Thornlace. I am a Shadowhunter. And a wolf. My preferred weapon is a pair of blessed metal claws. My name means "protector of humanity." Fitting for my line of work, don't you think?
When asked about my personality, I always give the same reply: "which one?"
I have what Nephilim refer to as "lunacy." But mundanes call it MPD or DID. Multiple Personality Disorder.
I don't know all of my personalities, but my childhood friend, Leon, is helping me figure them out. So far, we know I am not only a Shadowhunter, but also a werewolf, a vampire, a warlock child, and a fairie. But we suspect there could be more.
I am the Shadowhunter. I see myself as easy-going, though I can be snippy and rude at times.
Hayley is the werewolf. She is quiet and shy, but knows how to use knives to protect herself.
Marline is the vampire. She is evil and moody and hot-headed with a very short temper.
Rolanda is the warlock child. She is overly friendly and exuberant, but believes she just hasn't acquired her magic yet.
And then there is the fairie. My only male personality, a real jerk. He loves to use people to his own benefit. His name is Fern. My least favorite personality.
Each personality has a trigger. But Leon and I are still figuring that one out.
Preferences
Leon and I have began to figure out some of the triggers of my different personalities.
I, Alegandra, am the main and default personality. Whenever what has triggered my "others," as I call them, has passed, I revert back to me.
Hayley's trigger is whenever a dog or a wolf barks or howls.
Marline is triggered whenever I see a substantial amount of blood.
Rolanda is triggered whenever I am uncomfortable with my surroundings, such as in thick crowds or stressed out by something. I call her my "destressitizer."
We still don't know what triggers Fern. We are trying to find out.
