Queen glanced to her left before looking back again, she hadn't hunted in weeks and her body showed it, her ribs showed through her dark pelt and her hips stuck up noticeably and you could see the sockets behind her eyes. the reason behind her failure to hunt was down to her appearance, her melanism made her obvious to prey, even easy prey so she had a major disadvantage when it came to scouring for food. Despite not being able to hunt, she could still scavenge, she picked up a scent of a fresh kill that had been left several hours ago, she was still tracking it when she heard a distant howl, she quivered as several other wolves joined in , she was now in pack territory. Any smart wolf would've turned tail and ran but she was so desperate for food she grudgingly trudged on. Soon, her nose was twitching with various pack smells and the strong smell of fresh kill and blood, lots of blood. after wave upon wave of paranoia, she finally came across the kill, she gorged herself until she was full. After, she lay down for a few minutes and fell asleep but stirred awake by an unfamiliar noise, her fur stood on its end as she briskly trotted through unknown territory until she came upon a den, marked with a scent of a pack, she turned around only to be welcomed by several wolves "who..I'm so..sorry.I" she stuttered, terrified, but these wolves were docile, and she was welcomed into the pack, despite her melanism
