Biography
Once there was a she-wolf who had everything she ever wanted; a loving mate, a small territory, and three little pups. There were two boys and a girl, named Mavis, Mathis, and Marcus. The three pups were very daring and adventurous. They heard this rumor that there was a bear living in the old den across the stream. The three decided to check it out for themselves.
One night, they walked down to the den. The three were greeted with a great, rumbling snoring coming from inside. They carefully peeked their heads around the corner, and sure enough, a huge, dark shape was laying in the den. "I dare you guys to go touch it," Mathis whispered, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
His brother and sister accepted the challenge, and crept into the den. Once close enough, Mavis prodded it with a paw, and jumped back. Nothing happened. She did it again. The bear still didn't awaken. She got a mischievous smirk on her face, and prodded the bear's paw to make it look as if it's claw was going in and out if it's nose.
"Look! I'm a big, smelly bear, and I pick my nose!", she said in her silliest voice, and then laughed. But Mathis and Marcus weren't laughing. The bear had woken up at this, and it's yellow eyes burned with anger. It slowly stood up, and released a deafening growl. The three pups tried to run, but the bear leaned forward and grabbed Mavis in it's huge paws. It killed her instantly, but Marcus didn't know that. Seeing his sister had been caught, he ran back inside. "Let go of my sister," he growled. But the bear just swung a mighty paw at him, sending him flinging into the wall. The impact killed the pup instantly.
Mathis, however, had run, and made it back to their den. He quickly explained the dilemma to his parents, and they all ran back to the den, to find the bear gone, and the bodies of his brother and sister laying limp on the floor.
"This is your fault!" his mother snarled. "Go and never return!" Mathis shrunk down, and then did as his mother had commanded, running away as tears streamed down his face.
Luckily, he found a pack to join, and they took him in. They raised him from a pup, and helped him forget about his painful childhood. But Mathis would never stop blaming himself for his siblings' deaths.
