Biography It was a normal day in the forest just like any other day. Sitka was was sitting against a tree with her eyes closed, listening to the activity in the forest. Song birds were singing, squirrels were chatting. Suddenly, she heard something different. A voice. A whisper, more like it. It was calling to her. She opened her eyes. Sitka looked around, no one in sight except for Atka and Nome laying down by the den. She called out, "Hey! Atka? Nome?" They answered back at the same time, "What?" They got up and started walking over to her. "Did you guys say something? Did you call to me?" Sitka asked. "No, we were talking about the seasons and how they changed. For Atka's schooling," He grinned at Atka, "why, did you hear something?" Sitka thought about this for a second, she surely heard a feint whisper. "Come. Come closer." a whispering voice called. Sitka stood up in confusion. Ok, her siblings weren't the ones calling to her. "W-What was that?" Atka stammered. Sitka was so relieved she wasn't the only one that heard the voice. She wasn't going crazy. "I'm not sure." Nome said slowly. The three siblings looked at each other. This is weird, Sitka thought. "Come. Come to the stream." The whispering said once more. Sitka, Atka, and Nome walked slowly over to the stream, and looked in. There, in the stream, were three necklaces with what looked like a claw of a bear with a carved outline shaped like a crescent moon on it connected to a silver chain. But, Bear claws were black, why were these bear claws white? "Wear these, my children. They will protect you from what lays ahead." The whispering spoke. "Who are you? Why are you giving us these?" Sitka asked. "I can not tell you why, or who I am. Put these on and never take them off. Do you understand, my children?" They all nodded. As if the whispering voice could see them. No one was willing to speak. Surprisingly it said, "Good." The necklaces lifted out of the water and descended down over their necks. Their foreheads started to glow. Each one of them had a silver moon crescent, like on the bear claws, appear on their fur. "Now you will be protected. Until we meet in the future, remember to always stick together, my children." The whisper faded as it spoke the last words. Sitka's mind was racing. Why did the whisper say 'my children'? Why did it give us these necklaces? How did the necklaces float out of the stream? And finally, Why do we need to be protected?
