Character Description
Biography
When Larentia was a young wolf, she started noticing strange happenings in her Dark seeker pack. Pups and prey going missing and wolves coming back gravely injured, some even dead. One night, she was awakened by a strange scent. Slowly creeping out of her den, she saw a strange silhouette in the distance hovering over a group of pups shivering with fear. She knew what she had to do. She sneaked over to the creature. In the moon light she could see the creature better. The body of a wolf, yet the head of a deer. It lowered it's head and began to pick up the pups with it's antler's. Larentia leaped out of the shadows growling and bit the creature in the rump. It lifted it's head, dropping the pups and looked at her in surprise. She took step forward, snapping her jaws. The creature took off, running into the forest and disappearing into the shadows. "Follow me, pups." she said, heading to the Alpha's den. She shook Alak, the alpha male awake. He groggily sat up and she told him what had happened. They all went back to sleep for the rest of the night. The pups following Larentia to her den and sleeping with her.The next night, Alak and Sheema, the alpha female, chose a group of wolves to wait and ambush the creature. They set out a group of quivering pups in the moonlight as bait, while the others fell back to the shadows to hide. After a while of waiting, the creature showed it's face, creeping up to the pups. Then the group jumped out of the shadows, into the moonlight. The creature turned, running the same way it did the night before. This time, they all ran after it. Alak howling, waking the rest of the pack. They followed the creature back to it's base where a pack of Light bringers slept. The creature howled, waking them to fight. The two packs collided, fighting one another. Larentia became lost in the battle. Suddenly, the creature was in front her. She turned the other way, but she was surrounded by a group of wolves. They came in closer, closing the circle so there was no escape. "She is the one led them here. Let us take her, and flee." The deer headed one spoke. "What about the others?" a female wolf piped in. "They are done for, and we will be too if we don't get out of here." The deer headed one replied. With a heavy sigh, she obeyed his orders and the group fled, surrounding Larentia and forcing her to come as well. In a stowaway cave, they stayed for the night.In the morning, they introduced themselves to Larentia."I am Maximus." The deer headed one said, pulling off his deer head and revealing his normal wolf head. "This is my mate, Saffron and our son, Beowulf." They nodded their heads as he spoke. "And this is Jaspilite." She nodded her head. "And you are?" He said, looking at Larentia. "I am Larentia." She said quietly. Maximus glared at her. "You have cost our pack everything except what you see before you. You will now become part of our pack." "But I am a Dark seeker! Not a Light bringer!" Larentia shouted. "You will learn." Maximus said calmly.Over the next few weeks, Larentia learned the ways of the Light bringers, and found the being a Light bringer was much more enjoyable than being a Dark seeker. She fell in love with Beowulf. And has been a valued member of the pack ever since, caring for the pups and teaching the pack what she knows.
