The dappled wolf slowly crawled through the underbrush. She was afraid. Afraid of death. Afraid of others. She came to the edge of a territory, but it seemed off. The trees were uprooted, the ground covered with holes, the logs rotting slowly away. She coughed. There was smoke in the air. She heard a twig snap. She slowly turned and saw a wolf with deep gold eyes. "Who are you?" The wolf said. "I- I'm Brisingr." She stuttered. "Hello Brisingr, I'm Max of RebelPack. Leave, join, or die?" "I, uh, May I join?" Brisingr asked. "Very well," Max said. "So who is the alpha around these parts?" Asked Brisingr. "I am the alpha," Max barked. "Follow me."
They walked through the wasteland. They came upon a cave. Inside was a few wolves. Some were gnawing on bones. "Do you know where good hunting grounds are?" A white wolf asked. "Yeah, over the hill and through the forest." Brisingr said. "Why didn't you say so? I'm Star, the alpha female. How would you like to be our beta?" The white wolf said.
Thus was the beginning of Brisingr's life. She lives happily now in the pack of Rebels.
