Koaminra(Ko-Min-ruh) meaning 'Wise Light' in ancient wolf.
Minra stalked forward nervously, yet carefully as she didn't want to mess up her first hunt. Her mother, father, and Sky Reader were behind her. Ansadow, her mother, had insisted that Taiver come along to make sure that Koakin wouldn't mess her up with his constant tips going through her head. The young female was grateful for the silence at first, but now she wished her father's voice was running through her head; telling her that she isn't low enough or that she needs to get closer. Minra closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and then continued. She had picked up the scent of a woodchuck earlier and was now following it to where ever it led. Scents of mice and squirrels crisscrossed the trail, but none were fresh and even if they were, she had chosen this as her catch.
As the prey came into view, she crouched lower and took small, careful steps forward until she was sure the woodchuck would hear her heart beating. The wolves behind her had stopped a few paces behind to allow her room. Minra took a deep breath and bunched her muscles before leaping out. She had misjudged the distance and the woodchuck ran toward its burrow. Growling, Minra chased and soon cut it off. The brown creature stopped long enough for the white she-wolf to leap forward and kill it.
Ansadow bounded forward happily and nuzzled her. "You did wonderfully, my daughter!" she praised and nuzzled her again. Koakin and Taiver came forward and congratulated her as well. Minra smiled and wagged her tail. For once she was good at something and she hadn't failed the pack.
'I hope you wont fail, Minra. You have a great future ahead of you.' Her father's voice rang, cutting through her thoughts. She turned to face him curiously.
'What do you mean?' she asked him, lowering her tail worriedly.
'You will see, Koaminra,' he replied and then shook out his pelt. "Pick up your catch and let's get back so we can tell everyone of your success."
Minra felt her heart skip a beat. He wanted her to be Alpha after him!
