| No. It doesn't make you find creatures or treasures more, it just increases the drop rate. Like how you won't always get a wishbone from the birds, this would increase the droprate of that. |

| Fishing rods are an item that Octavius (glowing blue werewolf) drops, that increases item drops for the day, so like more savage claws, red roses, etc. I tend to collect a lot of them. I've been collecting fishing rods and pocket watched. Also thing I might collect water buffalo horn and the elephant tusk for heavyweight pups. |
