within the confines of the desolate, wintry peaks of the lofty mountains, a charcoal-furred brute accompanied by a corvid was believed to be a symbol of destruction.
he was brought into a planet of narrow minds and jagged altars, born into a clan whose very culture was built upon the shivering foundations of superstition and the fear of the unknown.
the seeds of his banishment were sown at the very moment of his birth; as he took his first breath, a massive raven descended upon his mother’s burrow, refusing to take flight even when challenged. the clan elders, drowned in ancient parables, immediately declared the bird an emblem of the witches --- a living malediction tethered to the heir's soul.
he was permitted to remain with the kin, but only as a pariah of the periphery, forced to dwell on the frosty outskirts and strictly forbidden from touching the sanctified meat of the clan's main kills.
the apprehension reached a breaking point during a season of shifting thaws. the raven began a frantic, bone-chilling cacophony of cawing, its green eyes blown wide with the terror of a forthcoming disaster. sensing the mountain's instability, the warlock hurried to the heart of the domain to warn the chieftains, but his desperation was met only with nonacceptance --- a violent furlough that left him bleeding and disgraced. when the ridge finally groaned and gave way in a thundering landslide, he managed to usher only a handful of souls to safety before the earth swallowed the rest. without a backward glance at the wreckage of his past, he turned his nose to the wind and wandered away forever.
he eventually discovered beldham. no longer wishing to conceal his companion or stifle the warnings that rose in his throat, he sought a life where his senses were embraced as a vital tool for the tribe's survival rather than a curse to be feared.
