Biography Quill, founder of the Inktriguing pack making her the first Alpha female. The beginning of a long lineage of fair leaders.
Born in the early spring just as the first rays of sunlight crept over the horizon. Quill was the offspring of lone wolves from far lands, not much is known of her family. Her mother did her job well but didn't build a strong bond with Quill or her siblings, nor were they raised in a traditional pack "Survival and having pups is what is important. Stop concerning yourself with anything more." Mother and father would repeat. Several seasons passed, it was time for them to start their own lives. They were given everything they needed to succeed. Each sibling was taken to different areas to set off, last would be Quill.
Trotting through the wetlands, passing mountains that cut through the clouds, where they finally stop at the edge of forest. Quill sniffs the air, a chilly breeze blows past with new smells and potential but also uncertainty. She turns back to her parents who stand there with a unfamiliar look in their eyes. They sigh before her father begins speaking, "This is far enough I think. If I did good then this is the last we'll see each other." She nodded, looking back towards the forest for another moment. Many thoughts run through her mind, it was exciting terrifying. Could she survive on her own? Find a mate? She wasn't fond of staying alone, she felt like it shouldn't have to be that way. Mother interrupts her thoughts and Quill turns back one final time. "Is there anything you need to say... or want to ask before we depart?" Quill stops for a moment, carefully combing through thoughts. Her nose twitches, there is something she's always wondered. "Why do you not believe in having a pack? Others have their own, yet you've always insisted they aren't important. Did you not have one of your own?" Both wolves looked at each other before sitting down, nodding their head in silent agreement Father began the story. "Yes, we had of a pack. Though not the leaders, members that were responsible for engraving bones passing down information. Just like we taught you." Mother continued "The Great Fire, happened. The land we come from had been without rainfall for nearly 10 moons. It consumed everything in it's path, faster than anything we had witnessed. Nobody could escape it, not even the humans. Many of the the elders, the sick or injured were the first to succumb." For once, Quill saw true fear upon her mother's face. Mother's voice quieted down. "Your mother and I were at the birthing grounds when it started, documenting a birth. We had no knowledge of it in the beginning, the fire had spread on either side leaving us ignorant until it met in the middle. The new mother wasn't able to leave in her condition, the elder assisting her couldn't escape the speed of the flames." Father continued on looking off distantly. "We were asked by the new mother, our friend, to save her pups if we could. We scooped the pups in our jaws with a promise to what was the remainder of our pack. We took off through smoke so thick it turned day into night, it burned our lungs. Every trail we tried was engulfed by the flames. Raining fire and ash from the sky but by some grace of the ancestors we managed to push through. Until finally we passed through Hell's gates." Quill listened intently; she never would have imagined this. The realization hit her; mouth opening to speak but doesn't get the chance. "Yes, those pups were you... your siblings. I know it's hard to hear about this only now, I'm sorry. You deserved to know sooner, we just didn't know how. It was too painful to relive it so soon." The three wolves sat there in silence for a bit while Quill took the time to process what she just learned. Thinking back on the past. The things they taught her, the coldness, no pack. Now she understands but part of her feels hurt they didn't say anything sooner. She licked their face and nuzzled them. "Thank you, Mother, Father. I understand." The she wolf then took off away from her guardians, running without looking back with a new found desire. She knew what she wanted to do, just hoping she could find everything. Continuing through the forest, her long agile body clearing the obstacles in her way.
Quill would eventually meet her now mate, Mosaic, and would set off to form their own pack. How they came to be is a story for a different place.
