Biography
A hulking figure with a wiry coat that appears always unkempt, Tanager is a silent shadow despite the fact that her red coat contrasts brightly against the ever-fallen snow. With her uncanny ability to sneak upon prey and predator alike, Tanager is swift to dispatch enemies, and swifter to sneak upon her packmates to playfully startle them.
Tanager refuses to elaborate on her past, stating that she simply encountered Fawn and that was the beginning of everything. After saving the younger she-wolf from a frenzied boar, she joins the pack under the guise of protecting Fawn until she can prove herself capable - but from the beginning, knows she has no intention of leaving.

| Personality
At first glance, Tanager appears to be a carefree dolt incapable of hunting even the eldest of rabbit. However, she will quickly show you that she is anything but. Efficient with her size and brutal with her teeth, Tanager is quick to put first impressions to rest. She almost revels in the shock that it brings, having a penchant for toying with others. With packmates her impish nature reveals itself in harmless pranks and teasing, but with anyone else, it shows in her ability to divert and take down a foe in seconds.
Unable to produce pups herself, Tanager takes advantage of any births within the pack to let her maternal side shine. She adores pups and teaching them what she knows, as well as allowing them moments of reprieve within the merciless mountains to simply exist and enjoy life. She is protective of both pups and adult members of the pack almost to a fault, favouring to take injures herself rather than watch another wolf suffer.
Preferences
Tanager prefers to swiftly overcome or take enemies by surprise, as her sheer size makes avoiding attacks fatiguing. Because of this, she excels in swift takedowns, and flounders in drawn-out combat. She adores pups and attending to the sick, having a deep-seated maternal side that she rarely finds time to indulge in the glacial hellscape the pack resides.
