Biography
Fire. Smoke. Howls of frustration and fear beat down on ears too small to understand. The crackling around him was deafening. The fur on his paws singed and tickled against the pads of his paws. He sprinted in one direction and then the next, stopped each time by a wall of flames. Finally, through the wall of solid black smoke, an opening appeared. The edge of a river spread ahead of him, reflecting the dancing fire back at him.
Tatsuki tucked his ears back against his head and narrowed his eyes before sprinting through it. His paws sizzled in the water as he pushed himself through the river and onto the bank on the other side. Here, he could see the destruction the fire had caused.
Infinite. It burned down the stretch of the river, each tree, each blade of grass, even the dirt seemed like it had turned to ash. Tatsuki coughed and laid down, watching the fire burn through the woods and slowing , now understanding that his pack was gone. His eyes closed slowly, torn between searching for any sign of life and never wanting to see the flames again.
A push in his side woke him from his sleep. He lifted his head to see the face of an older wolf. Dark blue eyes, silver striped legs, and black leopard dapples across his red body. The wolf watched him carefully, analyzing the situation. "Your pack's territory was across the river." the wolf said, It being a statement of understanding more than a question. Tatsuki pinned his ears to his head and looked down.
A she wolf with silver shoulders and light blue eyes stepped next to the wolf."Let him come with us, Yukiteru," she said as she licked Tatsuki's forehead. He wagged his tail once in response.
"He has nowhere to go, we can't just leave him."
Yukiteru tilted his head and thought a moment. He nodded once, agreeing. "It's his choice."
Tatsuki looked between the two. He stared down at his paws. His tail started to wag just a touch as he looked up at them again. "I want to go with you!"
Yukiteru grinned and nodded at the pup.
"Then what are you waiting for? Come on, kid."
Tatsuki bounced up and bounded after the wolves, leaving his worries and his old pack behind him.
