Mafia was a disgrace to everyone. She remembered the face on the wolves' faces. She knew there must be something wrong with her. No other pups wanted to play with her. She was an outcast.
Finally, when Mafia overheard the alpha male speaking with her parents and the omega, Lydio. who cared for her, despite the pack's hatred for Mafia. She listened carefully.
She knew why now. It was her pelt and eyes. They matched the wolf that murdered the alpha before the current alpha. This wolf brought this pack in terror and made them fight other packs constantly and kill all of them. His name was Veteco. Many wolves of this pack dyed of sickness, starvation, and battle wounds. It was not until the current alpha male killed Veteco and became leader. Plus, she was related to this wolf because her mother was his son.
"You can't just kill her! It was never her fault!" Lydio shouted before gesturing to Mifia's mother, Sype. "You're the daughter of Veteco! No one blames you!"
The alpha male responded calmly. "The prey has been less and less since she has been in the pack. And she seems more like him every day. We don't want another wolf in the pack like Veteco. He was a horrible, murderous wolf. She must be sacrificed."
Mifia's father, Kelio, looked down at the ground and mumbled, "Yes, I understand."
"No! She did nothing wrong!" Lydio snarled before turning to the alpha. "Surely you can't do this?"
"I can if we need to. Lydio, find the pup and take her to me."
Mifia had heard enough.
