Valhalla was taken in by a rival pack, the Alpha Female sought mercy on the pup when her mother was killed by there pack, so, she took her in, though the Alpha male despised the pup, knowing she was tainted with the insanity of the pack she came from- a killer.
His mate didn't much listen so Val grew up within that pack, in turn she ended up falling in love with the Alpha's son she grew up beside, whom only considered her like a sister- however, Val didn't see his 'affections' to her as mer brother/sister love, so, she was crushed when she saw him pouring/smothering his affections on another female within the pack. Val developed this enraged jealously/hatred, seeking revenge for what he had done to her- for what that female did.
In turn she uprised against her 'brother' by gathering a few rebels within the pack, forming her own small group of wolves that were willing to go against their so called 'Alpha'. They had a fight, which resulted in all wolves that were known as the 'traitors' to follow her into the midst of darkness, where she plotted for two years- Val gathered about thirty members, which, she was the Alpha over all, she attacked one silent night.
She took out her brothers entire pack, the very pack she grew up in, demanding that her 'brothers' pups be killed, and a fire was to be set to the territory, wiping it of all existence. It was a bloody massacre, but she won out in the end- making the mother watch as each of her offspring were killed right before her very eyes- but, Val wasn't finished yet, oh no, she drug that female over to her mate (Val's brother) and let him watch as she disposed of her once and for all. The two had it out, noting his father was right about her all along, that he trusted her, that she was insane-- she disposed of his pitiful life too.

Why? This song describes just how much Val was lashed out upon as a yearling, everyone continuously telling her she's 'crazy' - and in return she ended up going utterly insane. Nothing can fix it now, it's permanent.
Song: Bebe Rexha - Pray
Why? This song best describes how Val felt for a whole year after her unrelated brother she fell hopelessly in love with was courting another female within the pack. That's what snapped the last trickle of sanity she had left, and now she lives her life bathing in blood.

Why? Describes Val perfectly, not to mention her relationship with Norrix is added as well, hence these lyrics:

Song: Starset - My Demons
Why? This song describes Val & Norrix's relationship profoundly, the two creatures 'one and the same' - both succumbing to their demons for so long, it's all they know... but, together it makes 'everything ok'. They were each-others savors from the inner pain within, though, they're still ravenous and insane.
Song: Skylar Grey - Slowly Freaking Out
Why? Describes the first time she basically met Norrix, hence the lyrics 'I'm fighting the stranger in my eyes. And I know that only one of us will survive.' -- it also states how she falls 'addicted' to him. Val is basically 'slowly freaking out' with how much she's finding herself looming over him... hence, this was something she vowed to never let happen again- but, she just can't help herself.
