Winter Yeah right around that! That's about right; matches my state's almost exactly.
Fernweh.
Winter I can definitely see where you're coming from there. Where I live, houses are built to withstand our harsh winters and hot, dry summers. I'll never understand why people live in tornado alley or anything :') Even the strongest of foundations can't survive a large tornado. But yeah generally speaking our houses are not as sturdy
Fernweh.
There is no current plan of a draft. They basically were just like "yeah it's still legal so it's still a possibility" but it's legit a last resort. Something MAJOR would have to happen for that to occur
Winterfell
Fern Oh for sure however I do think for the quality of house you pay for in America is disgust given it's one of the "richer" countries in this crisis . The houses are not even good enough or stable enough to be that price they should be built to withstand hurricanes , tornados ect ect and they just crumble at the first hurdle
Fernweh.
Cost of living is also very state dependent, at least in America. California is horribly expensive because they had the bright idea of raising minimum wage to like $16 and wonder why everything skyrocketed in price :') No one understands micro or macroeconomics anymore
Fernweh.
Winter Yeah it sucks. It's definitely not just America but it's one of the hardest hit countries in current times. It's a major issue and I hope to see more done about it globally

The place I'm in was the cheapest one 2 rooms (one combined with kitchen/living room] and a bathroom for 800

The news is honestly so shitty at this point, different outlets tell the same story differently and honestly it's hard to know who to trust :') I really think there needs to be some sort of legal enforcement of telling the truth on a media outlet
Winterfell
Fern That is literally happening here too now you e said it like that , and then they do up the homes and rent it out for double ;-;
Fernweh.
They're an "investment" company as an umbrella term, but they've been "investing" in American real estate since the 80s. It eventually got to the point where people, especially older generations, would sell their old homes to them instead of another family because they pay a lot more. And you can think about the simple economics from there lmao. And it's just one example of companies that do it
Winterfell
Oh that's not good hopefully for americas sake it can settle back down everyone deserves an affordable roof over their head
Hallow's Eve
Yeah I know they are, but my boyfriends friend lives here, and it was one of the only 1 bed 1 bath under 1k a month
Fernweh.
It's a company that purchases real estate and resells it. Its caused the pricing of family homes in America to skyrocket, alongside other factors of course
Fernweh.
There were shots fired at a dinner event for a bunch of political figures. Assuming we're talking about America anyways. And he did pass a bill that doesn't allow companies like BlackRock to purchase single family homes, which will help in the future, it just doesn't happen overnight. The cost of rent here is pretty bad
