Biography Kiri Ma'Tiri was born to Wrenna Kenai. Kiri was easily bored by the mundane and usual things in the world. She had a wandering eye and a wandering spirit. She would often stare into pools of water, admiring her own unique fur colors, and paced around the forest to collect items that interested her. Her alcove was cluttered with unique items that she would examine at random. She was not necessarily greedy, but never turned down a gift or conversation--the latter attributed to her ancestor Murlowe, as it certainly did not come from Wrenna. Wrenna was a warrior, and Kiri admired her mother very much. The things she loved, she would watch. It is perhaps why the older warrior, Gwyar Grimm, caught her attention so consistently. Grimm was a hunter, more so than a warrior against rival tribes. He spent most of his time in the forests, bringing in heavy game. Kiri fell in love with his scent, and the permanent lines and swirls of cedar and mahogany that swirled on his dark fur like bloody tree rings. Grimm knew he was followed, and said nothing of it when Kiri trailed him. One day they began walking side by side, and continued to do so for all of their days. They learned many things about each other, and found more so that they seemed to exchange spirits when they were with one another. Kiri became silent around him and Grimm spoke around her. She learned the secret of why Gwyar preferred to be called Grimm rather than his Gwyar, he learned why she collected curiosities, and there always seemed more to learn. Grimm realized that with Kiri by his side he could spot details he never did before, from an enemy's weakness to a disturbance in a trail. Kiri realized that with Grimm she could hone her focus and find something within herself to defend, to fight for. Lady Wise Green encountered the pair on occasion in the forest and was enchanted by their conversations, though she more often teased and observed than participated. The goddess appreciated how the pair balanced one another, made ethical use of the woodlands, and appreciated the fine details she had woven into their domain. Eventually, Grimm would confess his feelings to the younger she-wolf, more so in gestures than words at first. Oddly, this seemed to make the Lady Wise Green both touched and jealous, and even as she blessed their joining, she wished for Grimm's prodigy to be more extensive--for he had been one of her favorites before Kiri grew close to his heart. Grimm would be sent on single-wolf missions to ensure its protection from menacing forces within and without. Magic would pull him from Kiri's side, and he would be forced to spend half his years away from his mate. Spring would return Grimm to Kiri's side. The loneliness Grimm faced in his missions was both accepted by and understood by Kiri. She let him find comfort where he needed it, and in the meantime devoted herself to tending the forests and fighting alongside her mother for the Brons. They had one child, Gretal Ruzova, named for Grimm's grandmother, Greta. Her eyes were pink like rose petals and her fur was the color of rosewood. Lady Wise Green had blessed her as a symbol of love, and when Grimm grew older, his missions ended. For his service, Lady Wise Green promised one of their descendants would mate with a King, and through the daughter of that union, their bloodline would rule the Mystral Valley and Golden Glass Sea. Of course, neither cared so much for power as one another. They grew to resent the goddess for separating them for so much of their lives. Grimm died not long after Princess Locklyn Eyre Kellan, the blessed favorite and close companion of Lady Green Wise, mated with the future King, Elias Cypress, and bore Princess Justina Jace. After Grimm died, Kiri lost her compass, and her balance in the world. She grew feeble quickly, aged and dimmed. She spent her days going through her curiosities in her den, and did not venture into the woodlands out of anger. She felt as though the goddess had used them, not blessed them like she had Princess Locklyn. Kiri had seen enough of this world, and only wished to see what lay beyond with Grimm, who she knew was hunting through the paths of the afterlife. This time, she would not wait to walk by his side.
