I'm nothing special.

After living for as long as I have the small things bring large quantities of happiness.

Seeing generation after generation be brought into this world. Wars being won and lost, warriors coming home either in one piece, mostly, or not coming home at all.

I was simply a random wolf in a very large pack of others.

No mate, no pups.

Now, I'm just an old wolf in a different place, a different territory all together. But home non-the less.

My finale resting place will be in the hills among the forgotten. The only thing to grace me in the afterlife will be the silent whip of wind to grace my tomb and the scarce sunlight to dance amongst the dirt and leaves.

No one to remember me goodbye or to mourn at my wake. But in death I will smile with grace and accept politely. For I have longed to dance with my ancestors and sing to the stars.
