Biography Wanderlust. It drove her beyond the den, beyond the safety of familiar faces, the comfort of common howls. Deep into the embrace of the mountains.
She was comforted, for many days, by the beauty of it all. Satiated by the radiance of the sunsets she had never seen in all of their glory, over the familiar mountains of home. She neither ate nor drank, only followed the steady perfume of mountain hyacinths that grew ever stronger over the next ridge, over the next rock, after the next step.
And then the comfort vanished, with the cresting of a great hill she was sure would reveal the field of endless hyacinths. Her wanderlust satisfied, this thirst for their beauty quenched.
The comfort vanished, her belly tightened with all the starvation she'd not noticed for weeks, her paws weak and shorn by the cliffside.
And she fell, tumbling, tumbling, tumbling. Down into the embrace of a new life. And she was named after the flowers she never forgot, by faces unfamiliar and howls not yet comforting, Mountain Hyacinth.
