Biography The first time I opened my eyes, I was looking at the world in wonder. The light filtering in, my brothers and sister squirming next to me, my mother gazing Down at me with loving eyes. Everything was amazing. Soon after, my sIblings went off to other packs. I stayeD put, the alpha wanting me to stay there. However, I soon learned that the pack would whisper behind mY back, giving me hard glares and pushing me aside. I tried for twO years to gain their love to be given none.
As my knowledge of the world blossomed, I learned qUickly that it was because of my pelt as to why I was treated differently. No other wolF in my pack had a pure white coat, along with my unusual pink eyes. An albIno was what I was called. However, I was classed amoNg the special wolves for my ability to take more hits in battle. Not many stayeD in that class, many always leaving to other packs.
As the years went by, I reached the prIme age of 5 years old. The pack had moved inTo a training pack, with the elders going off to train younger ones that came from different packs. I myself was heading to another one when I caught a good look at another female, similar Yet(?) opposite of me. Her pure black pelt as she joined the special trainees. She seemed to wear it with pride despite the whispering. As I went to another pack for training, my mind focused only on the battle moves that I learned, Intent on showing my worth to my own pack.
When I returned, little had changed. A few new pelted wolves had entered the rAnks; chimera, vitiligo and even a few Melanism like that female. But still, nothing had changed. The pack still wanted nothing to do with Me as did my alpha. Our alpha was always a sub-alpha, leader of this pack while the high alpha, also known as the Ultima, would change ranks and keep the guard up. I had learned that in mY training. OurÂ’s didnÂ’T come around often. However, one evening, that changed.
Our Ultima came into the pack, gave a good look around before things started moving at a high paced speed. The alpha, along with about half of my pack, got sent out to other packs. Not to return either. There were not many of us left when she approached us. She said things would be changing, that the pack would be built back up and reneWed to its former glory. It would take us a while, and a few generations, but this would be the start. She turned to the few of us, namely me, that had been doIng Nothing in the pack and told us to prove our worth. So I did.
Now, standing at 15 years of age, I was still going at it. The others that I had grown up with were all waiting for their time to go as well as me. The rookies and pups were almost done with their training. It was about time for me to go. But as I stepped up to the void, I only felt disappointed. I hadnÂÂÂ’t accomplished everything I wanted to in this life. My Ultima must have sensed this as she approached me with an offer. I had proven my worth enough for a warriorÂÂÂ’s stone. It would give me one more year of life. In this year, I would need to prove that I was more than a wolf just doing their duty. Prove that I wanted to stand with this pack and raise it from the gallows. I agreed.
I went through this process several times before it started to become generations. I would relive, seeing the trainees through their lives from start to end. Raising the next generation up to Her standards. I donÂÂÂ’t know how much time passed before the next big change happened. The Legacy Warriors were built and the name of the pack was changed. Inferno Abyss. How fitting. Those that did well would gain another generation of life. But none would catch up to me. And I was nowhere near ready to leave.
About a month later, I was named the Legacy Holder, holding the legacy of the pack in my paws. While the dominating wolves held the rank named alpha, I held the leader position in my paws. And it felt good. It felt good to no longer see disappointment in my fellow packmates but respect. And not just in them, but in my Ultima as well. She would tell me from time to time that I was her support. As long as I held this rank, I would never join the void. I wouldnÂÂÂ’t slip into the abyss where so many others laid in peace. My sons, my daughters, my parents. I was still holding on.
And I would keep holding on. For as long as my Ultima needed me.
