Part of the Original Bloodline.Snow stepped aside to allow her son to become Alpha.
Snow knows about her origins and her future duties. She was the result of an affair between her father, Slate, and her mother, Scheuren. Luckily, the Alpha Female, Molly, doesn't hate her. After all, Snow is supposed to be the next Alpha Female once Molly and Slate die of old age. Unless, of course, they find a better heir. Snow had heard rumors that Slate might approach her mother again to continue their affair in hopes for a better pup- a male heir.
Now, Snow knows that Slate and Scheuren still love each other. But she thinks that Molly is the best possible Alpha Female, and she doesn't want to risk that changing any time soon. So she went looking outside the pack for potential (temporary) mates. After all, if she began continuing the bloodline herself, then maybe they can choose one of her pups to be the heir instead, right?
Just as long as they don't continue the affair. She loves her mother, but she knows that Scheuren understands. The pack comes first.
When Molly died, what Slate did next surprised everyone. He didn't make Scheuren the Alpha Female. Snow won't pretend to understand her father, but she has to admit that making a wolf who's currently pregnant with another wolf's pups his Alpha Female probably isn't the best choice. Tall Tales was a decent Alpha Female anyways.
When Slate and Tall Tales died in the same week, the pack wasn't sure what to do. Scheuren refused to become Alpha Female since she knew that in order to do that, she would have to spend the rest of her life ruling beside a wolf she didn't love. Mela stepped in and took Karmic Blessings. as his mate. For a while the pack seemed to move on well enough, but once he noticed that Snow was showing interest in a wolf as a potential life mate, he begged her to take over the pack with that wolf. So she did. The pack continued to thrive under their leadership.

Snow is a wolf that believes that the pack must come before anything else. This belief comes from the fact that her father went behind Molly's back to continue the bloodline of the Alphas that started the pack. Sure, he chose a wolf that he loved, but broke his mate's heart in doing so. Yet he did it for the good of the pack. As the result of the affair, Snow has the tendency to do things her way if she believes that it will benefit the pack. It may make her seem rebellious, but she prefers the word "stubborn" as she is willing to step aside if she believes that its the best course of action for the pack.
Though this may make her seem narrow-minded, don't be mistaken. Snow is a kind, loyal, loving wolf, if a bit stubborn. She isn't a tyrant though at times she may be a bit bossy, and more often than not her "rebellious" decisions turn out to be the best course of action. She is willing to think outside the box in a way that defies what nearly every outsider never would.
And that's what makes her an amazing Alpha Female.
