"north according to the earth's axis, not magnetic north."

Which way is north, which way? The wolf mused, eyes narrowed in concentration. "Where am I?" He murmured, almost to himself with a self-satisfied smirk at his joke. The morning air seemed heavy, smelled heavy. It would rain very soon. The smirk grew into a small smile. North loved the rain.

Suddenly, thunder cracked overhead, and his gaze trailed upward toward the sky. A fat drop landed on his muzzle, splashing him in the eyes. North chuckled, shaking his head as he sped up into a trot. Drizzle battered his fur ever-so-gently. He couldn't wait for the downpour to begin.

North galloped through the pounding rain. He had to be soaked through by now, as his pelt felt ten pounds heavier. Yet he didn't care, they never got rain in these parts. He had to enjoy it while it lasted. The summer storms were the best, with their warm rains and booming thunder. Spotted tongue lolling in the warm rain, he splashed into a small creek.

He wasn't paying attention to anything besides the water he was playing in. Filling with rainfall from the storm, the creek was extra slick and the current stronger than its usual mild nature. North paid all of his attention to the water and the thundering rain.

That was, until he tripped and slid, sopping wet, into a solid figure, knocking them both off of their paws and muzzle-first into the stream.

North scrambled to his feet, eyes wide with shock and a lopsided smile on his features. "S-sorry-?"
