Biography The scandal: Pt 2 (Look to Legacy's Beginning for pt 1) ~~ ~~ His silvery eyes, cold and firm, met her fiery golden gaze. He was tempted to kick her from the pack, tell her to leave. The fact that her offspring carried his characteristics would be far too obvious. The pack would figure it out. Yet, Dark longed to meet his son. He already had a melanistic son that he had allowed to leave the pack. He didn't want to force out this one before he even met the pup.
"Fine," he mumbled, turning his back towards Legacy and walking back towards the river's edge. His head low to the ground and his tail dragging. Would his offspring even get the chance to get to know him? He doubted it. He was too old to be producing, and he shouldn't have slipped up.
"'Fine,' that's all you have to say?" the misty female said, her voice distraught. Even with her voice filled with sadness, Dark herd the silky tones, and the sweet nature behind it. He shook his head, attempting to shake the thoughts loose. "I don't want to raise this pup alone, Dark," she whispered, just loud enough for him to hear, "I want you by my side."
He growled, turning and shouting in a frustrated tone, "Don't you see what we've done?! I would be removed from my position as alpha, at the very least! If I'm not so lucky, I might be driven from the pack." He sighed, plopping down at the edge of the river, his age catching up to him in the moment.
Legacy approached, her voice soft with understanding, "We don't have to tell them, if you don't want. We won't tell them. I just want to stay here, and I want our offspring to look up to you. If not as a father, then at least as the alpha." She released her own saddened sigh. "I just want you to support me."
Dark felt his heart break slightly with the words. He didn't know how to respond. He had been born into the pack, but he knew they wouldn't hesitate to exile him if they found the truth. He pinned his ears, standing and turning towards the alphas' den. It now only held one nest for him, as his mate had died years ago. "Good night," he said, walking away. He heard Legacy sob silently behind him, but he didn't dare look back, fearing that if he saw her heart breaking, he would feel his own shatter as well.
