Biography She was running. The black of her pelt blended in with the shadows of the rocks, hiding most of her from her pursuers, but the whites of her paws always gave her away. She plunged into a mud puddle, the brown stuff staining her paws and hiding their color. She was a master of hiding, after all. But she couldnÂ’t hide forever.
Eventually, the pawsteps behind her faded, and she allowed herself a moment to rest. Gazing out across the forest below from her perch on top of one of the many boulders of the mountain, she heard a sound. A howl, strong and commanding, quickly joined by many more. A pack.
She glanced back the way sheÂ’d come. Her ex-packmates had most likely gone back to their dens, to continue their hunt for her when the sun rose again, when her fur would not hide her as easily. She needed to go, but there was something she needed to do first. She threw her head back, letting out a howl that rang out over the lands. The unknown pack fell silent, then the first voice cried out again. An invitation. "Come and join us."
She was up on her paws again, running, the breeze flowing through her fur. Maybe this pack would accept her. - “YouÂ’re the howler,” a brown male said. Honestly, he looked kind of boring, with a solid red pelt and chocolate paws. But his green eyes shone with an authority that only Alphas had. The female next to him didnÂ’t speak. “What is your name?”
She dropped her gaze. “Akuma.”
“Demon.” She barely stopped herself from flinching. “Why would your mother call you that?”
“I don’t have a mother or a father. My pack named me.”
“They would name a wolf a demon.” The Alpha female spoke. “I fear for your future if you stayed with them.” She stepped back, allowing Akuma to enter the dens. “Welcome to Sabercrest.”
