Decay's Embrace was unwanted by her birth pack, who found themselves with a surplus of talented wolves. She found her way to her current pack, where her talents and looks were enough to earn her a place. Though she is young, Decay's experiences have taught her that the world is a hard place. Since she was never trained as a fighter, Decay has honed her wits instead. She knows how to use her looks to get what she wants, and is determined not to be used ever again.

Her whole life, Decay's Embrace has felt like a piece of meat. Passed from pack to pack, valued only for the colors of her fur and the talents in her genes. Nobody ever saw the mind beneath, or asked Decay what she wanted. This has generated in Decay a profound distaste for pregnancy and leadership, and if she had her way she would never have to bear pups again. But despite all her talents, she was never trained to fight and thus must bide her time, scheming and pretending until the time is right.
