She didn't who her parents were because they'd given her up the moment she was weaned. This had made it harder for her to learn to trust wolves, but she thought she could trust her current pack. After all, it was them who had saved her.

Lying in the shade, Silver Moon kept her eye on the pups playing. She smiled to herself as they pounced on each other and laughed. This bunch would most certainly make a wonderful group of hunters and warriors. At least, she hoped they would. If they failed to pass their tests, they would be rejected by the pack, and thrown out.
Moon's smile faded somewhat as she thought about it. She really loved all the pups that came through the nursery, and couldn't help getting attached. She'd had to watch far too many fail the tests and be kicked out of the pack. Moon hoped desperately that these pups had all grown up and succeeded. Maybe even found another pack. She sent up a silent prayer that all the wolfs who had left her were doing well.
