He never meant to fall in love. He hadn't quite planned on meeting someone like her, though.
How ironic was it, that the love of his life was taught all of her years to hate him? He was a curse in their eyes; something so vile that his very name became an insult to utter. "May the Dread Wolf never hear your steps."
And yet, she loved him, too. Blindly.
It hurt him to hide his identity from her, and knew that their love would only hurt her, too. Yet, she understood him in a way nobody had in hundreds of years, and loved him with a passion like no other. He was selfish to not pull away from her sooner, to suppress all of those feelings that rushed through his mind. It was too bitter of a thought to know that their futures would not be together. He had silently sworn to love her, and only her, forever.
And yet, he was destined to die someday - perhaps by her command.

The day he vanished was the day that hurt him more than any other. He knew that she would understand in time - he feared that she would come to curse his name like all of her kind did. They were destined to be enemies, fighting for two catastrophically different outcomes for one world.
