Biography
As a young pup Slatepaw was born to a rogue pair of wolves, with no pack. Her brother was a sickly pup and didn't survive long after being born. As a pup whose survived constant travels and sometimes hostility Slatepaw grew up fast. After her father was killed by a bear when they stumbled into the path of a particularly mean-spirited creature she only had her mother to rely on and vice versa.
In the second winter of her life the young survivor got separated from her mother but then found the frozen body 2 days later. Spring had come before the young rogue was caught on the borders of Nightwind's pack. Nearly starved and weak from illness she was taken pity on and invited to stay. Although it was some time before Slatepaw really trusted that it wasn't some sort of trick.
Working very hard for her new family earned respect from all of the pack. The Alphas saw great potential in the young traveler and appointed her Beta when they thought she was ready. When Nightwind and Stonefur stepped down from leadership they knew the pack would be okay.

Slatepaw is a serious wolf who worked hard to earn the Alpha rank in the pack. She's a good leader even though tensions with other packs have risen on the borders. The pups look up to her even though they try to avoid her punishing paws. She doesn't usually have the patience for fooling around that the young wolves get up to. Training is her specialty and the pack all respect her.
