Genesis left her previous pack because she did not agree with the pack leader's code of ethics. She is a real lady.
Why this pack? The alpha male was kind, but rather simple... and the alpha female was infuriating she-wolf. And their son... their son was a piece of work. A little brat with a sense of entitlement. Oh, little Jean is going to be alpha male some day, oh, look at Jean go! Pshh. She had no time for him.
And Dax, brother of that fool of an alpha... she wasn't a big fan of Dax for the simple reason she couldn't get behind his support of his brother's stupidity. Dax said he and Sid were like brothers, so why didn't he shake some sense into Sid every now and a then? I mean, Dax may be young, but he certainly had more sense than Sid...
Oh, she couldn't stand most of them... Joan, the useless female who couldn't remember a damned thing. Sure, she was sweet and all... Oh, and KIM! What was so great about her, huh? She didn't seem like a normal wolf... she was like a... like a DOG or something, her odd behaviors. Morrissey, 'the wolf without a voice'. PSHH! More like the wolf without a personality!!!
And they all picked on poor little Lorna. That leopard pup... there was something Genesis admired about her. She was fierce, she was struggling hard to come to terms with the fact she was unwanted. And why not? What exactly had that little scrap of fur done?
Cherry was a lot like that, too... fierce, determined, refused to settle for what she was given. Genesis appreciated that.
Dakota was a sensible enough little she-wolf, seemed to have her head securely on her shoulders... She was a little bossy sometimes, but Genesis though Dakota treated her sometimes reckless sister Cherry the way Dax ought to treat Sid... so she was all right by Genesis.
And Nimrod. Poor Nimrod. They treated him like a child! Yes, he was simple, but with some encouragement instead of the constant coddling, perhaps he could really become something!
Ugh! They frustrated her to no end.
So why this pack? Well, while Genesis might not always seem it, what with her perfect composure and whatnot... Whaaaaat? She is a real lady, especially compared to this lot! But ANYWAY... It seemed the place for a wolf like herself... at least for now.
Besides, these mongrels could probably use a lady like her around... to keep them together.. you know.
And her sons, Gordon and Thurston... They were valued members of the pack, it seemed. Despite Genesis's differences with the others, they allowed her to stay around because her offspring were... well, they were high caliber gentlemen, wolves of top class just like herself! Pshht! They needed her!
