Calix was initially intended to be Blood Alpha; having served as the sole apprentice beneath the last one for nearly three prior to Felix's birth. Not only was he not chosen but, in a bizarre twist, his twin sister was discovered to have been chosen by the pack's ancestors to be the next Lunar alpha.
Defaulted down to the rank of Beta, for much of his youth, Calix silently harbored a great deal of resentment towards the one who stole his rank. In recent, years, however, he has been able to let go of said resentment. He has, instead, become a great deal closer to Felix.
