"A mate for him? So soon?"

Krysanthe's tension eased only slightly as her mate's tongue smoothed the bristled fur on the back of her neck. She was so protective of her litter. Especially her boys. Elliot was excitable and loud and Kenneth was so loving and sweet. Of course Primrose was very dear to her as well, but a mother and son have their own bond that is only a bit different than a mother and daughter. Especially in a world where being the son of high blood is both a blessing and a curse.

"I met you when we were only within our first month, no?" Emerson spoke in his gentle way, easing more of her nerves. "It's good to have them meet young rather than when he's older and more stubborn. We turned out fine. And my parents before us."

"Yes but.."

"Your Majesty!"

Emerson turned to face his older brother, Lucius. With a smile, he opened his mouth to lightly discourage his use of the title only to pause as Amelda ducked in holding a bundle of grey. Krysanthe rose up beside him as a pup with a fur of pure winter with sunny yellow eyes to pierce through it was placed in front of them.

"She was a bit.. Expensive.." Lucius chuckled awkwardly as he nudged the pup forward a bit. "But she's certainly a loving little thing."

The monarchs shared a brief look before Krysanthe stepped forward and scooped the little girl towards her. Murmurs of "you pretty little thing" and "what to call you" came from the queen who was temporarily distracted from her worry.

Emerson thanked the two and settled down with his dear Krysanthe. Finally, a name came to her.

"What about Kamaria? It means 'like the moon'."

"I think that's lovely!" His queen nuzzled the pup who'd been soothed by the warmth and gentle coos of the adults around her. "So lovely.. Oh, I love her already."
