Biography As a young child, Elwing was always fascinated with nature. Being an elf, that was natural. One day, on one of her many explorations away from home, at the age of fifteen, she found herself lost in the deep forests of Kaecovion. Once she realized there was no way out, she stopped walking and sat down, her long golden hair getting tangled in the bark of a tree. After some time, the sound of footsteps rang out in through the dense wood, the only other sounds being the chirping of birds and the rustling of wind above the trees. A young elf boy emerged from the greenery, a black cloak wrapped around his shoulders to shield his back billowing out with his quick movements, wearing trousers and shining black boots. The shirt he wore covered his arms, and it was a deep red. He held a bow in his left hand. Intimidated, Elwing pushed herself against the tree, hoping her green tinted skin would help hide her. The slight movement alerted the cat-like hunter, and he turned, his gaze burning into her. "What're you doing in these woods?" The strange boy asked, taking a few steps towards her. "I was only looking around, now I'm lost." Elwing muttered, averting her eyes, embarrassed. The boy seemed kind enough. "Well, I suppose I should help you find your way?" He was close enough now that he could reach out his free hand to help her up. "First... Tell me your name. Who are you?" She stared at his outreached hand timidly. "I am Prince Ailmar of Nixia, just out on a hunting trip for my father." Elwing was aghast. Prince? "Very well," She finally answered, "I am Elwing, just a common citizen," and took his hand. Ailmar helped her off the ground, but never let go of her hand as he walked her out of the deep wood. Once they reached the outskirts of Nixia, the prince told her, "You are far too beautiful to be a citizen. Please, come and visit me in the castle sometime. Or maybe even the forest. You'll never get lost again. I'll always find you." Elwing caught her breath, then asked, "What are you saying? I am a peasant girl, I am of no value, and I am most certainly not beautiful." Ignoring her comments, he said, "You are always welcome in the castle, Elwing. I have been searching for a lady to be my queen for quite some time now, and I think you're perfect." Ailmar kissed the back of her hand and then dropped it, holding her gaze. "I'll be waiting..."
