Biography The wolf shot down the side of the mountain, charging powerfully through the belly-high snow. Her pelt was dark, her eyes were bright, and a rage that burned like kerosene blazed in her chest. Her name was Hunter's Pursuit, and she was going to kill the buck that darted in front of her. Alone.
The she-wolf sprang, latching her jaws onto the thick hide of the neck, and brought the huge, sickly creature down. There was a brief struggle, a flailing of deadly hooves and the ghastly rip of tearing flesh, and Hunter's Pursuit stood triumphant.
She had been a strange pup. When the other spring-time pups were testing their teeth on sticks and each other's ears, Hunter's Pursuit was stalking voles and mice through the tangled grass. Her mother laughed it off as just another clumsy pup trying to imitate the adults-- until the little pup returned with a half-grown rabbit lying limp in her jaws.
As an adult, The she-wolf's affinity for chasing and killing bordered on disturbing for her pack-mates. Every flick of the tail, every quiet step or tilt of the jaw, was executed in the feral and graceful manner of the wildcat. Hunter's Pursuit was built to kill. Her eyes seethed with a ferocity that scared even the most battle-hardened wolf. She garnered fear and respect, but never love; she was an unspoken outcast. She was lonely.
And so, Hunter's Pursuit filled the void with the only thing she knew: killing. She raised her muzzle to the pale winter sky, her throat already messy with blood, and called the pack to the carcass.
