A gentle animal, Butterfly Queen never eats flesh of another being, and doesn't even tread on the ground to avoid even trampling on single blade of grass. She flutters gracefully above the earth, only ever setting a paw down on snow or sand. She doesn't speak, not mute, for her howls are like a melodic chorus from the clouds, but her body language replaces words entirely. She came to the pack as a puppy, taken in by Lycia from another pack. Young, the other members were aware of her connection to butterflies, as during season they would swarm around her constantly. Her packmates didn't mind, until one fateful day, a massive number of butterflies stormed the Nursery cave. The mothers and their pups evacuated quickly, but a pup was left behind and a brave wolf went after for them through the thickening fog of wings. Soon after, the bugs flooded back out the cave entirely and the pack investigated the Nursery. What they found was shocking, the wolf that went in was deceased with dead butterflies in their nostrils and mouth, as well as scratched eyes from tiny wings beating against them. Beside the corpse, a whimpering pup, trying to stay as far away from it as possible. Alcmene named it "Butterfly Queen", but wanted nothing more to do with it. It was figured that the pup was upset and the butterflies responded by killing the being that they assumed was the one to cause her distress.
The pack called her an "Agridulce", a blessing and a curse.
