Biography Silver lowered her head and strained against the biting, winter wind. The cold gusts lashed out at her, cutting into her like a whip. But the freezing air was not half as painful the grief inside her. She closed her eyes, and for a brief second, she saw what she had been trying so desperately to forget: The bodies of her packmates, strewn across the windy mountain top they called home, each with a bullet buried in their hide. Silver shook herself violently, trying to rid herself of the memory. But her Mother's lifeless, staring eyes was an image that had pierced her soul and would never leave. For Silver, there was nothing left to live for. She trembled with the agony that stabbed her heart and slashed her soul. Unable to contain herself any longer, Silver leaned back on her haunches, tipped her head up, and howled her remorse. Her despair filled cry was almost as cold and bone chilling as the storm itself. Silver bowed her head, the weight of her grief anchoring her in place. An answering call swirled up into the air, so soft, that Silver barely heard it. Silver staggered to her paws, disbelief scrawled across her face. Again, the howl reverberated in her ears, this time stronger. Silver sprung forward, hope surging through her veins, pumping through her heart and propelling her forward. In the distance, a figure was hurtling towards her, bounding across the snow. They staggered to a stop, nose to nose. Silver and the other wolf, with a pelt white as snow and eyes as blue the evening sky stared at each other. Silver was alone no longer. They didn't need to say anything. They both knew in their bones that this was meant to be. Silver smiled at the stranger who she already knew. The wolf, who's name she would later find out was Everest, eyes twinkled with new hope. Silver would never forget what she lost, but that was in the past now. As she and Everest gazed at each other, a new light kindled in her heart. Their future was theirs to create, and their story was yet to be written.
