Biography
Alpha wistfully looked at the horizon. Just this morning, at the early rays of the sun, Pupclaw smiled one last time and dropped her head on a neat pile of dry leaves. He recalls the sobbing of their two daughters, Ice and Red Stripe, and Whitestorm trying to hold his tears back. The newcomers, Maple, Eyepatch and Brownpelt grieved for Pupclaw as well and sent farewells and luck for her afterlife. Alpha was even surprised to see Bloom break down, when he expected some haughty happiness.
The bushes rustled behind him and Bloom sat awkwardly beside him. They exchanged the silence for some moments, and Bloom was the one to break it.
'So, Mates again, eh?',she laughed feebly. Alpha did not answer her, for he did not know what to say. Bloom sighed and gazed into the distance.
'I am training Whitestorm and Brownpelt in hunting and my, how much patience it intends!' She smiled to herself but tears started to well in her eyes. 'I understood how Pupclaw felt when she trained us, and she didn't even grow snappy at us',she continued in ragged voice, obviously to maintain herself. Alpha stole a glance at her. He saw that Bloom wasn't faking, and that she talked from her heart. She returnd the glance back to him and asked, 'Was I really too mean to Pupclaw?' Alpha was taken aback by this question but cooly replied 'Even if you did, she would've forgiven it either way. She liked you and was proud of you. She understood why you were a tad bit annoyed at her and let it go'. He stopped and painfully remembered when she trained him and Bloom. How she proudly looked at him when he caught his first rabbit and complimented him highly of it.
Bloom didn't seem convinced by this and whined mournfully. Alpha looked at her but with pity. How had HE never comforted her at needed times. Why didn't he give much attention to her and their first-born daughter, Stripe. Guilt crept over him like an annoying beetle and he forced himself to nudge Bloom gently in the shoulder. Bloom looked at him, surprised by his unusual act. Alpha wished the ground would swallow him up in embarrassment but he forced himself to look Bloom into her dark brown eyes.
'You should not worry yourself with the past',he said hesitantly but with gentleness,'In the present, Pupclaw is up there', he pointed with his muzzle to the clear sky,'And she sees that you are sorry and that you actually like her. I bet that she respects that deeply.' Bloom smiled shakily and Alpha smiled back. 'Let's go', he rised from the ground' Our pack needs us'.
