Biography " the clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness"- John muir
Who knew that in a blink of an eye, your destiny could change forever. A cream and brown colored she-wolf wandered the forest, the place she had always felt safest. The wolf went by the name of Forest keeper, the name given to her by her mother. The female wolf jumped onto the top of a fallen log, and tilted her face towards the warm sun. When she opened her eyes, a sight only told in legends, appeared in front of her eyes. The legends called them whisps, small light blue, glowing orbs that held the souls of those who have passed. Forest keeper stared, unblinking, at the floating myth before her. Something inside her pulled her towards the whisp. She took a step forward, but as soon as she moved, it disappeared into thin air. Quickly she looked around and spotted another one a few yards away. Absentmindedly she began to run after the soul, her feet thudding against the forest floor as she pushed herself to go faster, trying to keep up with the whisp. Running out of stamina Forest keeper began to slow, and if sensing her tirring, the whisp stopped. It stopped underneath the hanging branches of an ancient willow tree, the tree provided some shade from the now sweltering sun. Forest keeper sat a few feet away from the whisp and panted, her tongue hanging from her mouth. “Do you wish to change your fate?” a voice, sounding like a goddess, echoed around the clearing. The female wolf froze and looked around, searching for the source of the voice. “I’ll ask again, do you wish to change your fate?” The voice said again. Forest keeper whipped her head towards the whisp, a look of shock in her eyes. Nothing in any legends said that the whisps could speak, let alone her language. Without thinking she answered the whisp. “No, I will except my fate, whatever it may be.” She said. Truth filled her words. A warm presence filled her, like a mother’s kiss. Forest keeper became, suddenly, very sleepy. She dragged her heavy limbs over to the base of the tree and curled up into a ball, almost instantly falling asleep. Hours had passed and Forest keeper stirred from her slumber, with no recollection of what had happened. She looked around and stood, feeling no spiritual presence. Slowly she found her way back to her den. Completely unaware of how, not changing her destiny, may have saved the forest, everyone and everything in it. ~Spirited Away
